my beardie is hiding/sleeping constantly not eating, no poo

Our female does this as well. Every Nov. she gets "lazy" and wants to sleep all the time. Doesn't eat but doesn't lose weight either. She comes around in Feb. / March. Brumation most likely. Let her sleep, offer greens and keep him/her hydrated with baths once or twice a week.

    Is this "Yellow Fungus" ?

Hi Nikki, I posted on a reply to this topic in beardie health and then saw it again here. I hope my reply wasn't to bleak...our battle with fungus was a sad one. After posting my reply, I read that you dragon is getting better. I am thrilled that his skin is looking better. Maybe his next...

    Is this "Yellow Fungus" ?

Hi Nikki, My name is Robert and I read your post regarding the yellowing on your dragon's skin. I noticed that there were no replys so I thought I'd do so now. First thing you need to do is separate the two. If it is yellow fungus, it's highly contageous. You can see that it's orginating from...

    Fungus? Pics incld.

Also, one more thing. Tracie mentioned Tea Tree oil. Tea tree oil is an amazing thing. I used it on my face to treat bad acne when I was young. And it will help a great deal for your beardie. But make sure you don't get some run of the mill scented oil. You need real tea tree oil. You can get...

    Fungus? Pics incld.

We have a young beardie about a year old and he has these growths on his skin. Orion was injured when he was a baby. He was attacked by another beardie in transport to a Petco and lost a good portion of his upper jaw. Petco got him to a vet and he was treated for mouth rot with some very strong...

    R.I.P. FATBOY

Mike, I just read the postings about Fatboy. I'm sorry you lost your beardie. Well lost Bello last Sept 11th. so I know how you feel. It feels empty. The only advise I can give you is to mourn but don't mourn too long. He's gone and no matter how hard you wish for him back, God just doesn't...

    Baby Beardie attacked...permanent disfiguring

Great news. I know that I said that he was attacked and then I said he had mouth rot. Well turns out he was attacked by another beardie while in transit to Petco and his injuries brought on the mouth rot. He did go to our herp vet today. Dr K. gave him a through examination. Turns out his lower...

    Baby Beardie attacked...permanent disfiguring

Hi All....we were able to speak to someone who knew what was going on with Orion. It surprised me when I heard but it didn't occur to me cause they said he was attacked and bitten. He was attacked but not by another beardie. It was bacteria....mouth rot. His infection ate away the upper part of...

    Baby Beardie attacked...permanent disfiguring

Thanks. He goes to our herp vet on Tuesday. I've been doing a warm compress on his eye to loosen the mookie stuff and he had it open for a while. He eats fine. Even with just the one eye he "pegs" those crickets better than the other two. Last night was probably the most comfortable night he's...

    Baby Beardie attacked...permanent disfiguring

I haven't posted in a while. My wife and I are the proud keepers of 2 healthy beardies. Today we purchased a 3rd from Petco that was marked as "Manager's Special" They've had him since June and have been unable to sell the little guy. When Petco got him, he had been attcked by another beardie...

    Bizarre Behaviour!!!

We froze the eggs and then buried them in the back yard. We believe that her 1st couple of clutches were fertile as our male did get to her but the 3rd & 4th clutches were not fertile. The 1st clutch looked really healthy but as she continued laying, the quality of the eggs was decreasing. It...

    Bizarre Behaviour!!!

Getting one fixed is pretty pricey. It was around $650.00. But she's our baby and to us she worth a lot more. One her follow up exam, the doctor had Athen's ovaries in a glass jar w/formaldahide and she was able to point out the next cluster of eggs. Athena was going gravid for the 5th time in a...
