I may be an overthinking mama but I just noticed this today. There’s a little dark patch above his vent that looks a little pink that could be a sore. Am I going crazy or do you guys see it too? I don’t feed him crickets and I’m not sure what would have caused it if it was a sore :/

Ok gotcha! Would you recommend that over ReptiAid? I got the 10.0 bulb. It says to change it every 12 months but would you recommend waiting that long or change it at 6 months?

I use both a temp gun and digital probe. His basking rock is kept at 107 during the day and 75 on the cooler end but I’ll raise up the heat on the cooler side. I do have a ceramic heat emitter and I keep it at 80 at night. UVB is 10 inches and placed on top of the screen

New update on Miko: we just finished his last of 7 antibiotic shots this past Tuesday (10/11). His last vet visit showed no signs of coccidia or pinworm that was previously in his fecal sample, which is a good sign. The vet did see some Protozoa but said it should clear up with the remaining...

The parasite medication they gave me was panacur and ponzauril. Just curious, why do you think there could be a possibility of ADV?

Hi there! My baby Beardie is currently sick too so I totally understand that sinking horrible feeling. It’s terrible! Have you noticed blood in his stool?

I’m not 100% sure because I’ve never seen this in person but it could be tail rot from looking at similar pictures online. This needs to be treated as it can affect the whole tail and could be fatal. I would get it looked at by the vet. So sorry, I hope I’m wrong!!

He was a little sad after the vet but that was to be expected after being poked and prodded at…poor guy :( they sent me home with 6 needles to give him the Tazicef injections. They didn’t test him for an RI but I asked them if he ended up not actually having one, if there would be negative...

Also, I asked the vet about giving him probiotics (like soy yogurt) as I have read some threads about people giving their beardies probiotics with their antibiotics. She said that she’s never heard that and reptiles stomach bacteria could be different than human bacteria. What are y’all’s thoughts?

The total height of my enclosure (40 gallon) is 16 inch from floor to screen. I’ve been thinking about upgrading to 120 gallon because I know I will need to get something bigger when he’s bigger. I just took the measurements again though and I think the uvb is about 10 inch above basking rock...

Update: took Miko to the vet today after I called them. They ended up syringe feeding him again and sent me home with some intensive care food powder to mix with water and syringe feed him until he eats on his own again. I voiced my concerns about a potential RI again and they went ahead and...

Good to know, I would have never thought about that. I’ll change it out and see if it makes a difference
