    reducing ambient temp

Just a quick question folks. Markuu hasn't been eating all that great the past couple days. He's been eating more of his greens, but doesn't seem interested in his roaches or supers. My common sense is telling me it's because his cage is just too hot, but just for reassurance can someone ease...

    reducing ambient temp

He's been eating a lot more greens than usual, but I'm ok with that because hes still energetic and very alert. But with his temps, it's not so much the basking spot, it's hit cool side and general temp of the cage. It's staying in the high 80's, sometimes, on hotter days, high 90s. And the...

    reducing ambient temp

Hey all! It's been awhile since I posted, but everything has been going great with Markuu until now. The issue I'm having atm, is that he hasn't pooped in a few days. The weather we've had has raised his temps considerably, so I'm swapping out the basking bulb for a lower wattage one, but is it...

    Viv pics only thread

Just search for sliding door tracks, thats all i did. And as long as the basking surface temp is at 105, most of the time the ambient temp will take care of itself.

I ordered them off amazon. They were fairly cheap and were offered with amazon prime so the free 2 day shipping was nice!

Enough to have a successful Dubia colony

Just a little heads up: I'm still having a couple different offs, some adult females(2 to be exact) but mostly nymphs. I'm currently using a 100 watt CHE and as stated before temps are around 80-82 middle of crates directly underneath CHE. The rest of the bin is high 70's. Still can't get the...

I'll give that a shot. How sensitive are they too noises and what not? I have my bin in the living room along side my beardies cage, and with a 5 year old and a baby it can get pretty hectic lol.

The temp roughly in the middle of the egg crates is 82 and the cool side stays about 70-72. I refill the water crystals about every other day and just toss in some carrots, oranges, etc whenever we use them.

Fingers crossed lol. I'd hate to invest the time and money for it to go down the drain.

Enough to have a successful Dubia colony

I'm only concerned because it seems like I have a few dead nymphs every time I check/add food and water gels. Hmm.. maybe I'll just wait it out and see what happens. Thanks!

Cooper, what's your humidity at in your roach colony? I can't get mine any higher than 34% (right now it's at 27% -_-) and I feel that's a little to dry. I have put in a mason jar with water and let it sit all night and all day today while I was at work and no luck. I know I can mist the egg...

    Roach colony

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I was just browsing :) . I'm also new to breeding dubias so I'll just tell you what I know. If you haven't already, feed off a couple males. I believe the ratio to shoot for is 1 male for every 5 females, and as long as your temps stay in the high 80's and...

I'm sorry to hear that! I'm sure he'll be back and ready to go in no time though!
