baby corn snake likes to lay on the glass beside uth.

srry should have been more specific. i am worried that he will burn himself from laying directly on the heated glass. dont like the idea of a heat lamp unless uv and light are necesarry but i might try a che, thanks for the suggestion that totally slipped my mind.

baby corn snake likes to lay on the glass beside uth.

i have newspaper substrate and one of those hollowed out half log hides somewhat pressing down on the newspaper so he cant get directly on top of it, but he still likes to curl up right next to it barely touching where its heating the glass. i have a thermostat and a temp controlled power...

    Breeding feeders advice

My advice would be to breed dubia roaches instead of crickets. I'm still a newbie to this kind of stuff but I have a roach colony and as far as I can tell its like breeding quiet more resilient crickets that smell better, are more nutritious and can't really escape unless you drop them. They...

Help me keep my dubia colony

Ok that's reassuring thanks tater. So you didn't leave any water crystals? I think I might leave water crystals and leave the lid off.

Help me keep my dubia colony

My mom says I can keep them in her garage but she won't feed them. If I leave a weeks worth of food and water crystals will anything bad happen? I'm leaving town for a week on the 30th. I'm thinking maybe I could keep the lid off to reduce humidity. Would they be able to climb out? And would...

Help me keep my dubia colony

I am being evicted from my appartment and none of my friends are willing to take in my roaches until I can get my own place again. One of them says I can stay with them but they are convinced that te roaches will infest. They even have this old camper with and extension cord running to it that...

venting a little about care issues

I know what you mean, the other day I went to the pet store and saw a horned mountain hanging upside down from his screen lid with his eyes closed. I told an employee I've been doing research on lizards and I think he's knocked out. She went in the back to talk to her manager or whatever and...

Need help to start dubia roach colony

I'm using a reptile heating pad meant for a 20 gallon tank. If I could go back I would've bought a slightly bigger one but it works well enough

Need help to start dubia roach colony

IMO the easiest setup is a Rubbermaid container with holes or a screen in the top like you mentioned. You want to make sure you have enough room to put a few egg cartons in vertically on one side and still have some room for a food and water dish on the other side. Strap a heating pad to the...

    Dubia shipment wrong

There's a guy on here who sells them "twobeardieguy" he has a thread in the for sale section. I bought 200 roaches from him a little over a month ago and they are thriving. He is very helpful and makes his own roach food which my dubias seem to love. That being said i wouldn't feed out of my...

    Dubia colony concerns

Thanks for the response, the temps I posted are about halfway down the egg crates so I think the floor temp is ok. How do people normally guage the temperature without the roaches crawling up the wires, and is it ok to have a setup like mine if I punch enough holes? Not trying to buy another tote.
