    Changing up the diet: Supers?

I ordered a 1000 superworms for my girl in the summer and was feeding her between 5-8 on a daily basis. She would have been just over a year old when I made the switch over to superworms. Prior to that I had her mostly on crickets (but I found that she was getting too many parasites). She...

    Issues with hornworms?

Yesterday I had a scare with Luigi. She passed a normal sized/formed poop but as I was cleaning it up I looked over and noticed that she had about a pencil eraser sized protrusion out of her cloaca. I had fed her the last of the three hornworms I bought the night before. I gently massaged it...

How to break a bad pooping habit

Good news! I had a few successful days of Luigi not pooping on her pillow. I took your advice and liked up a row of paper towels where she normally 'dances' in front of the mirror and rewarded her with a worm after she went. It seems like such a simple thing but I never used the reward system...

How painful is a beardie bite ?

Hi Mimmy, Congrats on the dragon! A beardie that small will not have much of a bite at that age. Yes they have teeth but not enough to draw blood. My girl accidentally bit me at that age and even though it left a red mark for a bit it didn't draw blood. I was surprised more than anything. Even...

Why do dragons stretch out leg?

Perfectly normal and what many call their 'sexy legs'. My girl likes to do one or both at the same time. She does this while basking but even in her sleep when she's nice and relaxed.

How to break a bad pooping habit

Yes! That she does. I guess I could not clean up her mess for a bit to see if she gets the message, but not sure if I could stand it myself. Oh well, at least she's being consistent so there's that.

How to break a bad pooping habit

When Luigi was approx. 6 months old she got into the habit of pooping in her viv every morning. She'd warm up under her lamp for about an hour then jump down, chow down some salad, have a poop and was let out to run around my room for the rest of the day. It was a great routine. Then she started...

Beardie isn't very fond of new beardie.

It sounds like you have two male beardies then. Unfortunately I think it's in their nature that they will always see each other as competition and will remain aggressive towards each other. As others have suggested, it's best that they don't see each other from their separate enclosures.

What got you into bearded dragons?

I never had any interest in reptiles and avoided the cricket bin in pet stores (I'm scared of bugs). So when my nephew asked me to look after his bearded dragon for a couple of weeks (and feed it crickets) I was a bit hesitant. I had to look up what a beardie even looked like. Well it was love...

Is lllreptile a good breeder to buy from?

Luigi's weight fluctuates around the 700g mark but she's slightly shorter in length (although the tip of her tail is missing). She's quite active but she does have a set of power-lifter thighs on her. I guess we either both have chunky dragons or they're perfectly normal.

Is lllreptile a good breeder to buy from?

What a gorgeous boy he is. His coloring has really changed since you got him. How much does he weigh? I've been worried that my girl is getting on the plumper side and he seems to be a similar build.

    calci-sand

I'm sure someone can explain it better but even though they refer to them as deserts, it's due to the low amount of rain those areas get. Their composition is more like fine packed down soil instead of sand that you would see in the Sahara. It does have quite a bit of vegetation. I'm only going...

Weirdest thing your beardie has eaten?

Paper shred is also not safe around Luigi. Once I accidentally shredded a document I needed. As I was on the floor trying to piece the strips together, Luigi ran over to 'help' with the long paper worms.

Weirdest thing your beardie has eaten?

There's surprisingly quite a bit of water/precipitation in their natural habitat, not sure how much fish there is. If I drip water on Luigi's back when she's in her tub (to simulate rain) she starts her swimming motions so must be a natural instinct. My fish are out of her eyesight but the...

Weirdest thing your beardie has eaten?

Once Luigi chomped down on my big toe so hard she scraped some of the polish off and it throbbed for a couple of hours. Now if I have my toes painted in any berry color, I make sure to wear socks around her. She is also attracted to anything yellow or shiny.
