    Bioactive enclosure?

Hi! I went bioactive 6 months ago and it has been a real positive experience! I used the Arcadia Arid Substrate, you will need at least 4 bags. For the ‘clean up crew’ i just added isopods since springtails die easily in the dry conditions. I added some plants, some of which were destroyed...

HELP! Beardie ate TWO PIECES of DOG FOOD!

Don’t worry too much, it is not healthy for a bearded dragon but she will survive. Some keepers feed their feeder insects dog food (not recommended by the way) so I assume it’s not very harmful. If she is not pooping you can give her some pumpkin or plum baby food to help digest. But for now...

    Newbie in need of help!

I would recommend everyone to DITCH the Solar Glow. I’n sure some MVB’s are great. But the Solar Glow from Exo Terra is really bad. At the right distance for heat its too close and releases too much UVB. The heat/UVB ratio is off. Also my bearded dragon closed his eyes while basking all the time...

After a lot of research I decided to go bioactive (Everything bought at the garden store, did not cost much) and my bearded dragon seems to love it! He is ‘gardening’ all day now making tunnels and is able to climb. If you want info on this let me know! :)

Which dome to use for a 60W Zoo Med CHE

Both of them have a ceramic socket. So I can just use them? It’s only a 60W CHE and I have it on a thermostat just to raise the temp 2-3 degrees at night. The temps have been dropping below 65 lately.

Which dome to use for a 60W Zoo Med CHE

Hi everyone, It’s me again. I bought a 60W CHE from Zoo Med. I was advised by the shop to buy a wire light (like a caged dome) but then 75% of the heat just goes into my room instead of in the terrarium. I went back to the shop and they sold me a mini deep dome by Zoo Med. But the box...

    Too hot/too much UVB?

Well, got home from work today and found my little friend hiding under his hammock again. Today my room was not as warm as yesterday so the area under the basking light was a little too cold (34C) so I raised it a few cm again.. I now realise how much the room temperature matters! Which is...

    Too hot/too much UVB?

Haha okay I will give it some days. Just to be sure I lowered the hammock a little bit since I’m working tomorrow and don’t want him to overheat. The surface temp is then around 37c after two hours. He basked a little bit this night after I lowered it. But yes, since the new lights he has been...

    Too hot/too much UVB?

Hmm but I’m more worried now that he is getting too much UVB since he is hiding. The mesh is the standard Exo Terra Mesh. I included a picture:
