I just lost my dragon Spike to yellow fungus. We only had him for 5 months. We got him from PetSmart. I would like to get another dragon, but don’t want to get from local pet store, since my beardie came with yellow fungus. My kid shouldn’t have to go through losing his pet again either...
The clumps on his neck were taken off when we got culture samples. The clumps on his skin tend to harbor the fungus and make it hard for the topicals to treat his skin. The clumps pretty much fell off.
Spike has yellow fungus. I am already treating with Lamasil and honey, betadine and chlorhexdine. His fungus has already been debrided. My vet says the itraconazal is on back order. Terbinafine can come as an oral solution. Any suggestions or expertise on using other oral antifungals?
I don’t have a reptile vet in my area. I work for this vet and they use VIN for resources, which follow what you all are saying. What do I clean his cage with? I have been cleaning with wipe out from Zoo meds. Do I remove drift wood and items from his cage?
Yes I have him scheduled for a fungal culture. I also have Lamasil on him now. Also I am still waiting for shipment of uvb light. He’s only had basking light. Lamp setup doesn’t come till next week. What should I do. I still have coil light, but I am not using it.
I have had my bearded baby since July. He didn’t have any problems with his skin till after I bought dual coil uvb and uva lamp. This was in October. I didn’t know till now that coil uvb was bad. Otherwise he is somewhat active. He eats and drinks, and swims in bath.
I already posted these pictures, and I would like to know how to treat these areas. Do I lance blisters? What can I put on skin to heal? Uvb light might have caused this ( compact fluorescent bulb from pet store). Please help
