my beardie doesn't puff his beard or turn it black. Every now and then, i will see the black stripes, but i've never seen the whole thing turn black. I've never seen him head bob either. Maybe it just varies with each one. It's not something i would worry about though.

what is your setup like?

what times of the day do you feed? i know that with my beardie, he will ONLY eat at night for some reason. He won't touch anything throughout the day. I have tried and tried to get him to eat earlier. I used to be very concerned but he is growing just fine and when he does eat...he's a pig.

it sounds like a few little things need to be changed which others have already mentioned but overall it seems like he/she is trying to adjust. Beardies CAN go through moods. Mine will be my baby one day and then the next day he runs. My two friends have young beardies who are the same way...

i work at petsmart and i've tried some of those. Most beardies WILL eat them, however, they are freeze dried and when i gave them to my beardie, they sort of fall apart when he bites them. (because they are so dry)...i went back to live b/c he seems to enjoy them better and those in the cans...

mine's name is Hagrid. In the Harry Potter movies, there is this HUGE man named Hagrid and he has a realllllly big beard. so you can imagine why i named my BEARDED dragon after that. My two other friends named theirs Aslan and Haku! Aslan is a lion's name and Haku is some type of poem i think :)
