Yeah I tend to switch them out a bit earlier than a year just to be sure they are working well. But it should be good at this stage so I dont think thats the problem. He has been up and eating some more so thats good.
The UVB is a T5ho 12% arcadia bulb stretching 3/4 of the tank. Basking spot is around 105 and cool side is around 85. Bulb is about 5-6 months old so will be replacing soon. Here are a couple more pics from today. Seems to be almost the same on both sides though slightly larger on one the...
Its hard to see here and its not terribly swollen but its not normal for him. Unless its just from getting older?? I wouldnt be as concerned if it wasnt coupled with the 2nd brumation. He was very interested in eating insects today though and he is always alert and looks like a healthy weight...
I have a one year old male that has been brumating this summer despite having already brumated over the winter for 3 months. He woke up for a couple months but then went in for a second brumation. I have been waking him up weekly for baths and to offer food but he isnt usually interested...
I recently took in a rescue and the vet has sadly informed me that he has atadenovirus. I have had multiple lizards but have no experience with this so hoping to get some advice. He is around 1.5 years old and is very active and eats very well. He does also have pinworms and coccadia which Im...
My beardie is about 7-8 years old. He began to get some darker coloration on his stomach and doesnt eat as much as he use to. I just brought him to the vet and he said that was likely due to old age. He also has enlarged breasts (the fat pads). Especially on one side. It feels like its full...
My beardie has had this lump for a little while now. I know they can have boobs where they likely store fat but Im concerned as its mostly on one side. It kind of varies in size depending on the day (this pic is at its largest). It does not feel hard, it feels like there is fluid in it. Anyone...
Yes Im not taking him to shows anymore. Though he wasn't handled by people, he was just on display and handled by me. There is a vet at the table next to mine that has his beardies on display in a similar fashion so I thought it was ok. Im assuming the vet gave him calcium with the vitamin...
Im aware that 10 grams is likely not significant but thought I would add that to the info. He has had the same set up for years and has thrived so wondering why that would change now. Only thing I have changed is the uvb bulb as I upgraded to the T5 (I did this after he was already behaving...
Yes I dust his feeders and I believe he is about 12 inches from the light source but depends on which hide he is sitting on. I hop he is getting enough uvb as he just sits under the basking bulb these days
