    attension!

I think that people will get a light that spans the whole tank to simply provide more light, not necessarily to provide UVB throughout the entire enclosure. If your UVB light only spans a foot or so, it would be a good idea to get a light for the other portion of the tank, simply for the reason...

The things we do for our beardies

I just weighed my beardie again and she came in at 210 grams!!! So that's 40 grams in just over 3 weeks. I was pretty psyched so I figured I'd share the good news with everyone.

The things we do for our beardies

I weighed my beardie today and she put on 10 grams in a week, so hopefully I can get this to continue. Can anyone tell me if this is a decent amount of weight gain? I've never had to monitor this before, so I don't know what is a decent amount of weight gain.

The things we do for our beardies

I'll give that a try to get her mouth open. The vet recommended that I try it with intact crickets first so I think I'm just going to go that way at first as she will eat the crickets if they are in her mouth.

So, my beardies appetitie has been diminishing in the last couple of months to the point where she pretty much quit eating a couple weeks ago. Because of this she's gotten rather thin. I took her to the vet yesterday to see if he could tell what was going on. He asked about her enclosure...

    Basking wood

You could try using some aquarium silicon. It may not look that great, but I know that after it cures it will be non-toxic.

People in Rapid City, SD area

Anyone here live in the Rapid City, SD area. I will be moving there in about a month and need a temporary enclosure for my beardie. I was hoping to get a 40 gallon breeder tank. If anyone has one they're looking to get rid of let me know.

    xfire enclosure lighting question

To my understanding (I am not an electrician, but have wired up a few tanks) it would be better to ground the lights. It's always safer to ground anything. Get yourself a couple of three-pronged indoor extension cords and cut off the female end. Wire those to your lights with the ground...
