    Latigo and the Cricket

Hey, thanks for the lesson in beardie body language. I suspected he might be somewhat annoyed, since his eyes were closed for what I presume was an attempt to keep cricket feet out of them, but I wouldn't have known about the head shake and beard puffing! I love learning new things. Thank you...

    Latigo and the Cricket

Latigo, gender unknown, is one of my 2 beardies. He's the youngest, and a leather back. His viv sits right next to my desk, and we have a lot of interaction during the day. I think s/he may love me almost as much as I love him :-D. Anyway, his usual diet consists of small dubia roaches...

    Smaller than average scales?

Good idea. I might just do that :-).

    Viv pics only thread

OK, please don't laugh at the decor we made for Latigo! It looks rough, and it doesn't have the elegant profiles of many of these diy decor furnishings, but I must say that the little guy absolutely LOVES it! Lots of places to run, bask, and even hide (a cave on the bottom of one side, and a...

    Smaller than average scales?

BTW, yes, I did find a pretty "classic"-colored Leatherback at the expo, and brought it home. Supposedly 7 1/2 months old, and as curious a little guy or gal as you could ever hope for. We named it "Latigo", since that's a kind of leather (hubby's idea), and I'm absolutely in love with it!

What is a Bearded Dragon actually like?

Both of my dragons (7 1/2 month old juvie and 2-3 y/o adult) are fun, interactive pets, but they both have very different personalities. Although the baby leatherback (Latigo) is somewhat nervous about being handled, still, s/he is extremely interactive and interested in what is going on around...

HELP! Beardie eye roll back of head, twitch, head spasm

OK, I know this thread is several months old, but I just have to know how the vet visit went, and what the little guy was diagnosed with, and how he was treated. Could the OP please post an update if s/he still visits BD . org?

First Wave and Head Bob from Latigo

I hope he likes me, 'cause I sure like him! He's a lively, personable li'l fella, and I'm in love with him :-).

My husband thinks we should rename him "Black Beard"....

As a matter of fact, my husband DOES have a dark beard. Usually it's very small and kept trimmed very short, but at the moment, he hasn't shaved in ages, and although the beard isn't particularly long (maybe 1 1/2"-2"), it's thick, and combined with his shoulder-length hair (beard and hair are...

My husband thinks we should rename him "Black Beard"....

So, I've had my rescue Beardie, Buddy, for a month or so, now. He's a full grown male, normal phase fellow, and he and I get along great. However, we have problems with his behavior around my husband, whom he seems to hate. Buddy swells up his beard, and turns it black every time he sees my...
