If you want to see her true color, maybe keep her off of any colored sand? If she's on orange sand, she'll be dyed orange. Since you've decided to go with sand, maybe stick to un-dyed sand? I'm actually asking this, not trying to be smart.

I really don't think it's our place to judge this family. We don't know the circumstances of their household. This person came here looking for suggestions regarding her beardie. The best advice is take him with you and make an inventory of your valuables as suggested above.

I found this. It looks very stressed and that enclosure it's in is tiny! I'll be honest in my opinion, it does not look in very good health. Just my opinion, and I am no expert.
