Baby Duckie failing to thrive? Not eating

Duckie is doing much better. She is a spoiled little baby. Lol. I gave the flagyl to her for a couple days. I syringe fed her for a week - usually to the tune of 0.02ml. After two weeks and one day of having her, she decided it was time to eat real food. Started out on small Phoenix worms and...

Baby Duckie failing to thrive? Not eating

The oxbow is on its way actually. Yes, CooperDragon suggested it as well. And I've ordered it. All I had to use right now is normal critical care. Loud and clear on the vet thoughts...

Baby Duckie failing to thrive? Not eating

Ok. I'm gonna use the flagyl. He said to put just a drop on the side of her mouth. At this point, I don't think it can hurt. I've got probiotic. I'll mix that in her mixture tonight. I also put a dab of bee pollen in there. I'll continue that. I've got squash and chicken baby food. I used the...

Baby Duckie failing to thrive? Not eating

I posted in the introductions last week. I've had Duckie since last Tuesday night. She was 4 grams when I took her to the vet last Friday - 1 week ago. Her fecal was clear. She is in a 40g breeder tank. Basking hovers around 105. Reptisun 10.0 (not high output one) UVB mounted inside the tank...

Meet Duckie and give her your thoughts...

Thank yall so much! I think she's a pretty little cutie too! I'm not giving her the flagyl. I didn't want to give her an antibiotic if she didn't need one! ? There are a couple more roaches gone and since there's no way they can escape, she's got to be snacking...

Meet Duckie and give her your thoughts...

Oh and I had another question. I told the vet about how she wasn't eating. He gave me some flagyl and said it was an appetite stimulant. I'm haven't given it to her - #1 she's so tiny and #2 I have never heard of it and can find very little on it. Thoughts?

Oh and I meant the actual UVB fixture getting too hot from being close the basking dome... I've got my eye on that too...

Meet Duckie and give her your thoughts...

The bugs are secure and perfect to the UVB. She's def not closer than 6 inches I know. I'm optimistic. I figured she didn't have much of a fighting chance there, so hopefully, I'm giving her one. She does have a cute little personality. I'm not having to leave tonight so I've got my eye on her. ?

Thanks Cooper. She is drinking when I mist her. I tried the syringe and she lapped it right up too. I'm going out of town for work for the night but hubby is going to take over syringe duty. Should I leave the roaches in there in case she wants some? Her fecal was clean so I'm hoping she's not...

Meet Duckie and give her your thoughts...

Three times a day. Yesterday I left the roaches in their dish because I was away from the house for a while. I do believe she ate a couple. It's a tube T8. It's mounted inside the tank so probably 8-10 in from the basking rock. I can measure when i get home. She's on paper towels. It's been...

    My new buddy Syd

I have a 40g as well. I mounted the ReptiSun under the metal screen in the middle. I have a fixture from Walmart and placed screws through the metal top so that I could attach it that way. The cord comes off the side where the screen bends so it's not caught directly under the screen. I'd take a...

Meet Duckie and give her your thoughts...

Well, I met Duckie at our petco last Monday. She was sitting there under the rock thing half covered in sand with her little eyes closed. I had a chat with one of the gals there who told me one of the clutch mates had already died for an unknown reason. I told myself not to freak out (haha) and...
