    another lightening bug question:(

I can't recommend Dr. Blair highly enough--he has golden hands--and Electra is doing great a year after her surgery! If you do make it up to Lex, let us know--it would be nice to meet! Best wishes, Jan

    another lightening bug question:(

So glad to read your beardie is ok! I dont know where in Ky you are( i.e.min which direction you are 45 min from Louisville), but we are here in Lexington and in case you need a vetbrlec. Clays Mill Vet in Lex. has an excellent reptile vet-- Dr.Blair, and they are very good about responding...

    Prolapse

I'm sorry your lizard had a prolapse. Our big girl had some bad ones last year, and ended up having emergency surgery, so I know it is very stressful (she's doing great now, a year later, thank heavens). It took our girl a while to get her appetite back. We were giving her oral critical care...

    Bearded Dragon RingBearers

Dear Bearded Dragon. Org community, You've read much about the adventures of Electra and Salsa--Electra's emergency surgery and Salsa's long-(and finally successful) fight against parasites. Finally, some good news to share--my partner and I got married on Sunday and the "girlz" were our...

Special Needs Dragon, trying to lay eggs HELP Please!!!

It depends on the dragon, I think, but I have pretty limited experience. Our older girl would lay pretty regularly (even when they were infertile, which was always!)--one clutch every 3 weeks or so up to 4-5 clutches each year. She did this for three years, starting at age 3. She laid a lot of...

Special Needs Dragon, trying to lay eggs HELP Please!!!

Has Lemon covered the eggs up yet? Our girl would do that, and then sit on top for awhile. We'd wait until she crawled off and/or was sleeping to remove the lay bin(and the eggs inside). Hope she gets the rest out ok!

    Beardie Affection? Face-petting their humans?

OMG--I'd love to see that up/down head motion--video :) It's so nice to hear we're not the only ones anthropomorphizing our adorable, darling, dragons this way. Our colleagues sometimes think we're crazy :)

    High Blood Sugar

Wow...I just read through this whole long thread. My heart goes out to both of you who have lost your beloved dragons. I am so very, very sorry for your losses. It sounds like you are amazing lizard parents and that they were lucky to have you. Head bobs and scratches to Hutch.-Jan

    Beardie Affection? Face-petting their humans?

It's definitely not hand-waving--we've seen that. It's a much gentler thing, and there is no circular motion--it's almost as if she is "petting" us , or dare I suggest, caressing...

    Beardie Affection? Face-petting their humans?

One of our girls exhibits a very unusual and adorable behavior--when we put her close to our faces, she gently reaches out and slowly paws at us. It is very gentle and "seems deliberate" though she may just be reaching out to not fall. Our other girl doesn't do this . We're curious--do anyone...

    Pooping when handled?

They're very clean animals and don't like the smell of their own poop. Generally, they'll wait until they're out of their vivs to poop. You *can* "potty train" them to go in their bath. Our girls will now "wait" for the bath. Sounds like yours is indicating it doesn't want to go in its viv:)

Fat Albert, our baby beardie is going downhill

Parasites can take a long time to get out of the beardie's system. I hope your Fat Albert feels better soon!
