    My new 90g terr

Using a dual light fixture will work but consider that 2 bulbs are twice the cost of a single bulb. Online the reptisuns are the same price reguardless of length. If the fixture has a clear plastic cover as most aquarium fixtures do remove it since it will have the tendency to filter out some of...

    Reptarium

As a temp portable enclosure for outside or visiting it may be OK. Being as it s all screen there would be no heat retention but for sunning it would work good. One issue I could see is your beardie being able to rip the fabric easily with its claws. Looks like a simple setup and as a temp...

    hissers

Tape won't keep them from climbing. Hissers can climb anything. Mine are in a bin with a locking lid but rarely do I see any trying to climb the walls. I have reptibark for a substrate and a couple hollow logs and a couple egg crates for them. I suppose keeping them warm, dark, fed and watered...

    Dubia Roaches for Dragons

Determining the sex of the nymphs before they molt to adults you can feed off the male nymphs and allow the females to mature. Keep in mind that you will need more adult males as the population grows to service the ladies. I just scored a colony off Craig's List of mostle 4-5 month old nymphs...

    dubia water

I mix a half gallon at a time in a rinsed out fruit juice bottle. I eyeball the crystals and add water. No need to refrigerate. I also found out that adding water to the bottle that the water crystals get even bigger. As the bottle runs low I just eyeball more dry crystals and add water.

    earthworms as a calcium source?

I would be concerned about parasites more than anything. A good worm for a source of calcium is the phoenix worms. Although a bit small and expensive they are a great feeder.

Questions about starting a Dubia Roach colony

it is a good start. if left alone (not feeding from them) you should have a thriving colony within 4-6 months. culling out excessive males and keeping mostly females will maximize production. allow a minimal amount of males to mature will keep healthy studs available for the girls. 6 months from...

going with dubias. need some help

to begin feeding dubia right off you will need as many as possible of the right size. to ensure a limitless supply of feeders you will want to have as many adult females as you can get. keeping a ratio of somewhere 3:1 up to 10:1 female:male optimal being about 5:1. definately check Craig's...

    Electrical help

If you were to run both wires to a box with a dimmer switch, hooking your basking bulb to the dimmer, you can come out the box with one cord to provide power to both fixtures. Having a dimmer on your basking bulb allows you to fine tune the basking temp.
