    New main food?

Not sure id classify supers as a staple, maybe on occasion but definitely not and main staple. I find dubias to be easy to maintain and breed and more will tear then up quickly. May run into resistance on new dragons fed something else but will do well with them. Phoenix do well in terms of...

Dubia colony heating, completely clueless now please help!

Mine is set in a larger tupperware box, we have a few, but this is our main breeding boxes. We run 11" flex watt to cover the entire bottom. We then cut a piece of Styrofoam and set over the flexwatt. We seal this up with the aluminum duct tape. Keeps the floor safe, and all heat in box +...

    Daylight Heat Lamps?

Thankfully no, I stick with my set up and don't change to anything new unless adding a new reptile. I did give them a quick look and with their reviews i personally wouldn't touch them too many complaints.

    Best substrate

Tile works great. We use tile in all of our cages, non sanded grout. Very easy to clean and will last for ever. Even someone with no tile experience can use their stick down groutable tile squares. They are the much ticker and higher grade stick down tiles and will do fine with the cage temps...

Any beardies out there still brumating?

Mine usually start right around the end of the year. This is their first year in their new building, new temps and lots of windows we have some coming out the past few days, slowly but theyre waking up. The one im really waiting on is taking her sweet time.

How does everyone heat their dubia colony?

Interesting, I hadnt thought of putting it on the outside, was going to put along the sides, inside. The cable I always had inside wrapped around the inside, taped with foil tape and brought the wire and probe in through the side.

How does everyone heat their dubia colony?

Im curious and looking at redoing my set up. My colony has done well with your basic Zilla Temperature Controller/thermostat and exoterra heat cable. Unfortunately the other day my potbelly pig must have gotten bored and chewed the plug coming from the thermostat and Im needing to redo my set...

First Hatchlings! A question... (moving this post to here)

Common practice is to leave them on a damp paper towel in individual tubs for 24-48 hours inside the incubator

    feeding Worm question

Yeah i started to read a few guides on silks, after every horn worm guide scared me away :-p I think ill read up on them a bit more and give it a try So Ill have plenty of variety of food all made by me ;) Supers dubias, reptis, and maybe silkworms

    feeding Worm question

I like silks, and horns. Soft food, nutritious and most any dragon will eat them. They are just a bit pricey to keep around as anything more then the occasional treats, especially with so many dragons. I had thought about breeding silk and reptiworms just out of curiosity. I currently breed...

    feeding Worm question

Yes I tend to go through quite a few phoenix worms when hatchling start coming out but their diet is ever changing. I personally have never bothered to purchase meals, I use supers where acceptable, much better nutritional value, more meat.

    feeding Worm question

Id stay away from meals/supers exc at as a juve. A common rule of thumb is to wait until theyre 16" to feed them supers and other hardbodied insects. I used micro /smallersupers for some of the young ones but I wouldnt use it too much or as a staple some get picky and takes awhile to ween them...
