    Frodo's first puff!!!

Now the cat knows who's boss. Our cats don't know whether they should be fascinated or terrified of the beardies.

    Serafina and the Imposter

Sera made her way into our bedroom during her explorations of the house and was disturbed to find another dragon that looked and acted EXACTLY like her. The nerve! Looking to me for an explanation "Maybe if I gape at her she'll run away" "I shall lick you" "I can run faster than you!"...

    Meat?????

I agree with Barbara. I would only feed chopped meat in an emergency if live feeders were not available.

    Alive! Ultra-shake (natuer's way) as a supplement?

Herpvite is made by Rep Cal. It's a multivitamin supplement for reptiles. For young dragons it's recommended to sprinkle on salad or dust feeders with a multivitamin 2xper week and a calcium powder 5x per week. Adults don't need it as frequently. Here is a link for more info on this...

    Alive! Ultra-shake (natuer's way) as a supplement?

I use this product for myself and love it. It's loaded with vitamins, I think it might be overkill for a dragon though. If you are already using herpvite multivitamin or the equivalent you should be covered.

    I just went to Petsmart

psittacosis was the disease that stopped bird sales at PetsMart. The main reason being that psittacosis a.k.a. "parrot fever" can be transmitted to humans, it's pretty contagious I doubt it was limited to only the love birds.

Adhesive Glass Door Finger Pulls Where to find

Thank you for all the suggestions so far. Right know I'm using the suction cup idea and it has been working quite well. They are handy, because I can move the location of the suction cup, or take them off completely when I need to (like when I clean the doors) I may take a stroll over to...

    Not eating

What kind of lights are you using for UVB and heat? What are the temps on the basking site and the cool side? What kind of thermometer are you using to take the temp? What food are you offering him?

    why wont my beardie eat??

Definitely start giving your BD bathes. He may not like it at first, but it is a great way to keep them hydrated.

    butterworms

Butterworms are a soft-bodied worm and pose little impaction risk. Your BD should be able to digest them with no problems. You can also try silkworms, another soft bodied worm that my BD relishes.

    food strike!

Have you tried offering something other than a superworm like crickets, phoenix worms, silkworms, roaches, etc? I think sometimes they get sick of the same thing day after day and appreciate a little variety. Since my rescue dragon came to live with us back in early January, she would eat...

    Basking With Mouth Open

Like Holly said, please do pick up a digital thermometer asap. You need to know what your temps are at both the basking site and the cool side. For young dragons you want 100-110 at the basking side and 80-85 on the cool side. If the temps are too high on both the basking spot and the cool...

    Basking With Mouth Open

This is the thermometer I use: http://www.amazon.com/Holmes-Digital-Thermometer-and-Hygrometer/dp/B000I11IBQ I also recently purchased a temp gun from Pro exotics for $25 so I could double check my temps. It is getting the same readings as my digital probe thermometer.

    Basking With Mouth Open

Those stick on gauges can be up to 20 degrees off. You should really consider getting a digital thermometer with a probe, they are pretty cheap (around $12) at places like Walmart, target, etc. The most popular brand on this board is the Accurite, digital thermometer This one gives you two...
