    Picky Eater.....Anybody Else?

It can be a challenge! Sully goes through phases too… he’s almost 5 months and has had his ups and downs with various foods. He’s pretty consistently liked Dubias, has been hot and cold w BSFL (they’re so easy to deal with, except I hate when they turn into flies—I know they’re harmless but...

One month: making progress with Sully

It's been just a little over a month since I brought Sully home. He's about 10 weeks old now, and growing fast. When I first got him, he wasn't terrified of me—would eat Dubias from my hand on day one—but ran away from me whenever I tried to get him to climb on my hand. I continued to hand-feed...

Baby suddenly staying under rock... but eating/pooping normally

Okay, now that I posted that, he of course came out from under the rock, ran around exploring and was as active as I've ever seen him... and now he's basking normally. So it seems that he's fine, but I'm still curious as to whether shedding could be a reason he'd hide out for a bit, or what else?

Baby suddenly staying under rock... but eating/pooping normally

Hi everyone, I have a question. I’ve had Sully (about 9 weeks old) for 10 days. He’s been adjusting well (eating Dubias (dusted with calcium or multivitamins one meal/day according to Karrie’s recs), though won’t tough greens), stress marks went away after about 4 days, poop looks healthy...

    New baby is home!

Picked up Sully yesterday, from a local breeder, and I am in love. Overall, he's doing a little better than I hoped for in the first 1.5 days. He's got stress ovals on his beard/belly, but has been exploring his habitat, basking, and even ate a bit of arugula from my hand and a few BSFLs...

My enclosure... almost ready for his arrival!

Ah, I forgot to attach the updated pic... (added it now). That's the placement. Thank you for the heads up - I will be extremely careful not to let him launch off of anything!

My enclosure... almost ready for his arrival!

Thank you both! Given the helpful info you provided, I realized I had some double-sided foam tape, so I used it on the suction cups. (I placed the hammock low, as I don't know how clumsy, or not, my new boy may be!) One question—do you think he'll be able to get up into the hammock, via the...

My enclosure... almost ready for his arrival!

Hi everyone! I've got my enclosure set up, have been running the basking (75w and 50w halogen) and UVB (Arcadia T5, 12%. Also have ordered a 14% but starting with 12%) lights, and have temperatures stable and where I want them. (The rocks look precarious but are very solid, I made sure of that!)...

    Hello! Soon-to-be Beardie mom here.

Thank you—definitely a critical piece, the lighting. I would have had no clue, but after reading so much great info here, I'm following Karrie's recommendations and getting a 22" Zoo Med Reptisun T5 10.0 (hanging it inside the tank), and for basking bulb I have a clear halogen 75W and also a...

    Hello! Soon-to-be Beardie mom here.

Thank you so much—I’m using a herpstat2 that has temp probes, but will also get digital probes to make sure the herpstat is staying accurate. For feeding, I’m planning to start out w 1/4-inch Dubias, and small BSFL. For salads, thinking mustard greens, collards, kale, and dandelion greens. Also...

    Hello! Soon-to-be Beardie mom here.

Thank you! I’m going ultra-conservative and ordering extra-small (1/4”) Dubias to start, as well as the smallest BSFL. There are sooo many details, and I appreciate all of you experienced owners sharing your insights!

    Hello! Soon-to-be Beardie mom here.

Hi everyone! I've been reading everything in this forum the past couple of weeks, as I get ready for my new baby (he'll be about 8 weeks when I pick him up in 10 days). I really appreciate all the info here, and have a 48 x 24 x 24 Zen Habitats tank, Zoo Med Reptisun T5 10.0, 75W halogen...
