Actually this is exactly whats happening to me. I havent been able to get him to eat anything voluntarilly even squash which is his favorite. He hangs out on his cool side 99% of the time only going on the hot side when i put him there and even then he leaves after like 10 minutes of being...
When i got mine his nail was missing. Eventually it started growing back but then it began curving sideways. It doesnt bother him at all and he still climbs just fine so if yours does the same i wouldnt worry.
Butterworms are pretty expensive followed by reptiworms. In my opinion reptiworms are best not because theyre healthier but because they are more affordable and still contain an excellent amount of nutrition.
Since theyre buying most of the feeders i would suggest getting reptiworms. Not for breeding but rather for his staple. Theyre one of the best feeders out there.
Its a very good choice for substrate and very popular. Easy to clean and maintain. Just make sure its not the adhesive kind and get ones with a rough surface that way your beardie doesnt slip and slide around uncontrollably.
A 10 gal tank will be outgrown extremely fast. I would suggest saving up soon, at about 10" i would definetly upgrade to a 40 gal. 55 gal tanks dont have enough floorspace, theyre more narrow and tall.
Well i was feeding mine larges at 12" and he was fine with them. Theyre not that much bigger than mediums so you could try that (more bang for your buck). At that size he'll probably eat between 20-40 a day.
