    Strange Behavior and Dark Tail

Thanks for sharing! Yeah, I have seen them change their tail colors before, but usually it is temporary. His has been like this nonstop regardless of what is happening (even at night while he is sleeping).

    Strange Behavior and Dark Tail

Yes, his weight is definitely consistent. So, would you chalk this up to brumation then? and any thoughts on why the tail would be dark?

    Strange Behavior and Dark Tail

He has cut back on his own. I can't really get him to eat much at all lately. Outside of taking a bug out of my hand every once in a while, he has shut down eating-wise. He pretty much just sits in his cave all day (sleeping or laying with his eyes open). If I take him out of his cave he will...

    Strange Behavior and Dark Tail

Thanks :) Yes, I have always used this same light setup... though in the winter he also has an extra 50W basking bulb to keep temperatures where they need to be... I stopped using this extra bulb when temperatures started to rise in March/April. Up until recently this setup has kept him very...

    Strange Behavior and Dark Tail

Hi all, In the past two months, my dragon (Khonshu), who is just over a year old, has definitely had some behavioral changes. He has been hiding in his cave a bit more since the spring, but as of a month or so ago he completely avoids basking almost entirely. The second his lights comes on, he...

Bearded Dragon Gaping All The Time

I actually reached out to @Drache613 via email right before I posted this. Looking forward to her response :)

Bearded Dragon Gaping All The Time

I have a temperature gun for the surfaces and I have a digital probe thermometer on the sliding door (bottom left side of tank), which doubles as a hygrometer. The hygrometer is currently at 36 and stays between 30 and 40 percent. For cool ambient temperature there is a pet safe thermometer on...

Bearded Dragon Gaping All The Time

Hi all, My current dragon (Khonshu) just turned one. When I first rescued him as a baby, he was sick. He had to have a piece of his tail amputated and needed to be treated for a respiratory infection… Since then, he has been fantastic! That may have started to change in the last month or so…...

    Gulping?

Khonshu is still active as of this morning. He (I'm assuming boy for now) woke up with the lights and has moved into the basking spot. Unfortunately, he is still doing the mouth thing several times over the course of a few minutes. Sometimes it's just a puff where he just seems to gulp... Other...

    Gulping?

I had posted about this dragon on another thread, but now this seems more urgent... My wife and I adopted a baby red dragon (Khonshu) on Saturday. He/she is likely just over a month old, weighing only 2 grams. When we got the dragon home, I noticed that the tip of the tail was black and...

    Possible Tail Rot?

Hello all, I just got a new bearded dragon on Saturday (Khonshu) after my last little guy (Drax) passed away. Upon bringing him home I noticed that he may have a bit of tail rot on the tip of his tail. I wanted some other opinions on this, please see attached pictures. I have started home...

    Sick Bearded Dragon

He is still alive, but I really don't understand how at this point. He is pretty rigid and can't move even his head at this point. His breathing is normal... and when I am able to get his mouth open (it is locked pretty tight), I can get him to have a few drops of slurry. This is just insane...

    Sick Bearded Dragon

He is still the same (too weak to move). It's tough to say for certain if he is reacting poorly to the baytril since he was seemingly nearing the end before he took it. He did start black bearding maybe a little more ever since I started him on it, but it's tough to say for sure. I have been...

    Sick Bearded Dragon

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. I do live near UGA, which does have vet teaching hospital... Unfortunately, they are not really able to do anything special as they are very short staffed at the moment. My vet did work with them for the original diagnosis (likely not correct), but at this...
