    Questions! (brumation + care)

The other dragon is doing perfectly now, thank you so much! Healthy and active, just a little skittish, but yeah :D As for brumation. Been taking the hide out of the cage and increased the light time, even tried to coax with favorite treat, but nope. Light turns on in the morning, I leave to...

    Questions! (brumation + care)

FIRST. I know brumation is a thing, and my 3-year-old Chilli has gone through it before, but it seems really, really long? He's now started around late summer (I think late September) and is still going strong. He's still able to be awoken and active when necessary (such as getting grumpy when...

    Handling

Update: He let me pick him up without trying to run, only a little flinching. Yet now he's a little grumpypants cause he's starting to shed his head. Worms finally got here, going to try to let him eat off my hand and see how that works, though of course I don't expect him to get it the first...

    Handling

Yeah I have thought of that, though I haven't been able to order any bugs other than crickets for now. Veggies out of his bowl didn't seem to interest him at all, and I've tried dead crickets though he won't want it even out of my hand. I've ordered worms, so hopefully those will come soon, then...

    Handling

Thank you so much, I've done what you said, and though it took a little chasing, I got him into my hand. (while I'm typing this, actually, typing in one holding in the other) and he seems fine. No escape attempts and doesn't freak out when I pet him, seems to be just the picking up he doesn't...

    Handling

So I've been asking around, though I might as well just make a topic. My little dragon, who has only been with me for about 2 weeks so I'm not horribly worried, does not like my hand at all. Everytime I put my hand in his cage he flinches away, and if I put my hand near him he will open his...

    Just Making Sure

Would you have any advice for getting dragons used to handling? Little dude, if I go slowly, will let me put my hand near him, but after that, nope.

    Just Making Sure

Ahah thank ya ^^ The crickets are annoying, so until I get him used to handling, I take everything out when I feed him

    Just Making Sure

That's what I was thinking of doing, as such I got another container. Though, I have to get the little dude used to being handled before I can even try that.

    Just a few questions

Would you (or anyone else) know how to pick up a not-used-to-being-held dragon? Little dude keeps running away :/

    Just a few questions

    Thank you so much :D

    Just a few questions

    1. Where would the best place to buy crickets be? With my new beardie, I've been buying a bunch of crickets to feed him from Petco, though 100 smalls is 15 bucks, and since the little dragons are supposed to eat 10-20 a day, that's 15 bucks a week. Is there any online stores to buy them from...

Mhm, read that up as well. Found a nice way to catch them, so they get out pretty quick.

Yay! Pretty sure he'll start to eat more then soon, as well as have an easier time eating, for the substrate (reptile carpet) is getting completely taped down so those little sneaky crickets can't get under it.
