    Lost appetite / winter?

He's a bruiser. ?. Definitely a bit overweight. A little less food isn't going to hurt him. The previous responses are dead on. He's gonna be fine.

    Co-Habbing Beardies and Other Species

This has the potential for disaster written all over it. Either physical attack or stress to the point of killing an animal is possible. In the wild, even if these animals live in the same type of environment, they have the ability to break line of sight, evade, escape. I have never agreed...

New Beardie Acting Weird Possibly Shedding Habits

Was the"C shape" movement with a front leg? If it was, it was a wave. They do this to acknowledge a presence in the room. It's a kind of submissive gesture. A hi I mean you no harm, don't harm me gesture. It's normal in the beginning and should subside as the beardie acclimates to its...

why doesn’t he arm wave anymore?

This is exactly what it is. It's either submission or acknowledgment of a presence. The fact that he's not waving is actually good. My beardie used to wave whenever the cats entered the room. Now she stands at the glass and stares at them pretty much face to face with no gesture. If they...

    Bearded Dragon Advice

I'm with Karrie on this one. Keep those two out of line of sight. As far as the slow down in feeding and activity, it's that time of year. My girl is active about 3 hours a day, eats a reduced amount, poops a bit less ( less in equals less out) and naps all day in a warm shady spot. It's...

Lights On or Off During Naptime?

As long as you provide a place to get out of the light, your beardie will be fine. They know when to get out of the light and when they need the light. Think of it like this, does the sun go out in the wild when they nap? I do however shorten my light cycle to 10 on and 14 off in the winter...

    Angry pancake wiggle

Their natural instinct is to make their bodies appear larger and more threatening when they feel threatened. That's why they flatten. Makes them appear wider. You may also notice some darkening skin with some gaping and hissing

Ground-up eggshells instead of calcium supplements?

The information I've found on this is that egg shells contain bacteria and need to be boiled first in order to kill bacteria or you risk making your beardie sick. You can pulverize after boiling but I wonder why we shells were recommended instead of commercially produced calcium supplements?

    Does moisture help shed?

I'm with Claudius on this one. I don't buy into soaking either. If you provide different textures in the enclosure( wood, rock, hemp rope), you're beardie will scratch as necessary. The humidity by me is usually pretty high so my gradient is 20 percent in basking area and up to 50 at the...

Looking for the right place to buy

Roach colony can take awhile to establish to the point of being able to feed them off and have it be self sustaining but completely worth it if you're interested. They take a couple of months to get really going. There's plenty of online tutorials. It's really easy. Just maintain them in...

    Too Cute To Handle

adorable. They do have a way of finding the most awkward lounging positions but they're comfortable. Mylittle one has adopted a branch with a stick coming out the top as her sleeping perch. You'd think a stick pushing her tail up but every night without fail, that's her spot
