    is my baby beardie sick

hey, i buy my arcadia from : http://www.livefoods.co.uk/product_info.php/reptile-lamp-1inch-25w-p-985 Thats the 30 inch one, but there are other sizes. You will need to chnage the UVB every 6 months, so when this reptiSUN runs out switch to the arcadia. I find the price cheaper and they are...

    Help Bella

mealworms are just no good for them im afraid, the chitin shells can cause inpaction and its like living on rivita, there is just no nutrition in them. If she likes worms, phoenix worm look similar but they are soo much better for them, or try butter worms which are very good also. She may be...

    My little guy is hurt!

i agree a vet needs to take a look but my girl has this, apparently its a neuronal issue and they just have no awareness of where the limb is, so they dont know to correct it. Its quite rare in reptiles. But if it has just happened there be an underlying cause a vet needs to rule out.

What's the problem with reptiGLO 10.0 coil UVB??

the levels of UVB fluctuate, and with the coils are soo low they can be in the UVC range, which causes reall damage to the retinas and as they need UVB for calcium and other processes it can have a wide effect. If you are in EUrope Arcadis 12% are the best, but in the US reptiSUN 10 are sufficiant.

under a coil?? by exo terra, do you mean the UVB repti GLO? if so the mesh you are placing it on is blocking out most of the UVB, the UVB tubes should be in the tank (i.e. nothing between him and the bulb but air). The reason i ask you to clarify is that reptiGLO's are bad enough but any coil...

    Big belly?

when you are feeling the belly, is it hard down her right hand sind, in the lower half? This is where her bowels are so if you can feel it in there a few good baths and maybe some olive oil to help it pass! just make sure the feeders are no larger than the space between her eyes and you only...

OK PKC is photokeryto conjuntivitus (sp?) and is basically damage to the retinas from UVB rays which are too harsh, in the 'bad' bulbs the wavelengths of the rays go so low, sometimes UVC they cause serious damage, it is also a problem if you are not using a bright white light as this...

i would also say if you have seen worms in the poop, and his belly is swollen i would think it was a sure case of parasites. You can just pop a fecal sample into the vets and get some medication for him, but i think everyone is getting other points across (i.e. impaction and UVB lighting)

Sorry whats a Lat?? I have never heard of them before! It could be the feeders arent correct for this speciese, but you have only had him three weeks, his not going to explode!! Where did you get him? Pet shops may give you an age but you can never be sure of that, so take it with a pinch of...

Genetics say that some of us are just supposed to be small or tall lol! It may help to go over your set up in detail though: How old is your dragon? How long have you had your dragon? How long is your dragon? What is the sex of your dragon? What size enclosure do you have your dragon in? What...

    Getting the $%#$* Temps Up!

i agree its an awful lot of wattage! You need acurite thermometers for a healthy beardy, its just a must. I would also say to return the UTH, beardies are not designed to sense heat from below, and if it shorts, or heats up too much, which they often do he will just sit there and get burnt. I...

    Getting the $%#$* Temps Up!

I think the problem here is not having a good thermometer, the cooking ones are better than the dials and stick on ones, but not good enough really, you need one with a long wired probe (acurite from walmart is very good and cheap, but any one will do) or a temp gun, the type mechanics use. With...

    Advice please

well they can lay up to six infertile clutches a year (sometimes more) so it could well be eggs, but shes not ready to lay them, or she dosnt like the box. I would just say that all strip UVB tubes needs changing after 6 months, so your is definatly due to be changed! It says on the box 12...

My beardies aren't eating crickets like they use to.

I have never had to do it, but you drop it on the snout and hopefully they get the idea and lick it off, a few drops with every meal should be ok!
