    Post Surgery Enclosure Setup

Hi! I have a rescue that will be undergoing surgery this coming Tuesday for Pre Ovulatory Stasis/Yolk Coelomitis. I’m looking for advice, suggestions and/or examples on accessories and setup of her enclosure for post surgery, or just anything that’s helpful or recommended regarding her...

Yolk Coelomitis / Pre Ovulatory Stasis

Yes!! That was the word lol thank you! She’s still been pretty slow, but she has another injection this Saturday and then we’ll see how she’s doing closer to the surgery date. Thank you so much for checking in!

Yolk Coelomitis / Pre Ovulatory Stasis

Trying to upload a video of her eating; she was very alert then. Says file is too large even though it’s 9 seconds 😩

Yolk Coelomitis / Pre Ovulatory Stasis

Hi!! Her surgery is booked for May 15. If she seems to be doing better by then, we’ll push back the surgery date and continue w antibiotics since we’re not 100% sure what we’ll find if we go right into surgery. She did lose another 20 grams, but not surprised as she didn’t eat for almost a...

Yolk Coelomitis / Pre Ovulatory Stasis

Hi!! Thank you for your response! The vet is very experienced when it comes to this surgery, our only concern is how sick she is, if she’ll even survive it. She’s had a pretty consistent black beard for days now, but changes how dark it is, so it’s not always black black. I wasn’t able to...

Yolk Coelomitis / Pre Ovulatory Stasis

Thank you so so much for sharing!! I will pay anything to get her the surgery and get her feeling better because miracles can happen!! She’s already lived way longer than anyone thought she would. Problem now is keeping her okay until she can get in for surgery. The vet isn’t back in until...

Yolk Coelomitis / Pre Ovulatory Stasis

I rescued a Female Bearded Dragon a couple months ago from terrible, terrible conditions. She was in very poor health and we didn’t think she was going to even make the night - she did, and began to recover and thrive! In the last couple of weeks, she stopped eating and began losing weight...

    Rescue Beardie Mouth Breathing

Lab work showed her white blood cell count is way lower than Dr. expected, and is lower than the first time - so, that’s amazing! Her liver, kidneys, etc. all look to be functioning normally, which is a miracle. Her fecal showed Coccidia, so I picked up Baycox today to administer every 48 hours...

    Rescue Beardie Mouth Breathing

The T8 is 8-ish weeks old. I don’t have pics of them, but I can get them. Yeah I have the digital for ambient and a surface temp gun for basking. :) Thank you!!

    Rescue Beardie Mouth Breathing

Hi!! Thank you for getting back to me. The UVB is on a reflector - it’s a Reptisun T8 10.0 since it’s a smaller tank, but mounted on the inside. The digital stick ons have just been on there forever and I can’t get them off 😅 I use digital standing and then measure basking temp with a surface...

    Rescue Beardie Mouth Breathing

Hi!! Backstory… So, I rescued 2 bearded dragons that were abandoned in a basement at the beginning of February. They were in a small 20g tank together with no lighting or food. I rehomed the male the same night as he seemed to be in decent condition, still in need of a vet, but was doing okay...

Do I need to seal grouted decor & petstore wood?

I’ve made some hides for my beardies new enclosure. The hides are made out of styrofoam and have atleast 4 layers of grout applied. I also bought 2 pieces of driftwood from the petstore. Do I need to seal either of them? I was going to bake the wood pieces and brush off loose pieces on the...

Is this medication side effects? Dragon randomly started avoiding basking. He always loved basking! I'm afraid he's dying.

My guy, when he was on medication, was super lethargic and didn’t bask and wasn’t eating very much even though the vet told me I should see signs of improvement right away. It wasn’t until a couple weeks after the last dose that he started acting normal again. I was treating him for coccidia too...

    Benebac

It is a good probiotic! For when and which form, I would ask the vet. Even just giving them a quick call, they should be able to give you an answer. I’ve heard to give during, but haven’t heard anything about whether powder or gel is the way to go.
