So our beardie is doing almost the same thing but with a few differences. Our beardie is 6mth old and used to eat her roaches and veggies like a champ. Then very suddenly she stopped eating the calcium dusted roaches and then slowly wouldn't eat even undusted roaches. This went on for a about...
We have a 100 watt CHE that we keep set at 80 all day and night. We have one PAR38 70 watt flood light for basking and we use a Reptisun 10.0 T5-Ho Uvb 24W Fluorescent Lamp, 22" mounted in a hood with reflector but UNDER the lid. We also have a heating pad that we leave on all the time on the...
We recently lost our baby beardie (RIP little buddy) and are looking to start a new. First let me say that we don’t believe our husbandry to be the cause in our beardie’s passing (we think it was ADV, we’d been to the vet and had testing done but he passed before we could do the ADV test but...
Sadly our baby passed away two nights ago. We are currently grieving his loss and recuperating. We plan to sanitize everything at a later date and go over all our husbandry and make any changes we feel necessary. We will try again but our little baby will always have a special place in our hearts.
For those of you following this post I have an update on our beradie, Mikey, but it is not a good one :(
We took him to an actual herp vet in our area and the vet confirmed it was not MBD but suspects Agamid Adenovirus instead. He was given a Vitamin B boost but has shown no signs of...
Someone posted this link on another post and I just needed some clarification
http://www.uvguide.co.uk/fluorescenttubemeshtests.htm
So based on this graph our beardie is getting 35 uW/cm2 of UVB output. What amount should he be getting? Your answer will help us determine if we need to move...
Also, let me clarify something. When I said "He keeps moving to the cooler spot of his cage where it's 90ish degrees." What I meant is that recently he prefers not to bask in the 105-110 spot but prefers to be in the cooler 90ish part of the hot side of cage. He always has a cooler side...
We have a digital thermometer and his ambient cool side is around 80, his ambient Hot side is around 90 and his basking is 105-110. However these temperature values were all lower until recently, as temperature was the first thing we suspected and corrected immediately. We have since taken out...
We've had him three months on 10/13 and we estimate that he was 5-6weeks when we got him. He's 1.4 oz and 10 inches long. He's grown from his two month (with us) checkup which was 1oz and 9 inches long.
The second pic is finisheing a shed which is when this all started. Also, I could not get the video to upload. Is there another way? He almost fell off his log trying to climb up it! He keeps moving to the cooler spot of his cage where it's 90ish degrees.
