    very very sick dragon!

You say he is 7months old and he has been poorly for a month - A month may not be long to you, but that's 1/7th of his life. I really think he needs you to get him to a vet as soon as possible. Can you please get back to us and let us know how he is - he's just a baby and we shall be thinking...

    Another light question

Thank you everyone for all the advice and info - but I shan't be able to use full spectrum. The light is so bright and clear - compared to 'ordinary' tubes and bulbs - it didn't occur to me to actually touch them. Even after a few hours, the 5ft ones are cool - not even warm...

    Another light question

Thanks again, Luthien - I shall spread the word, here in England. I'll try the full spectrum and let you all know how she reacts.

    Another light question

Thanks for that, Luthien. I plan on leaving the UVB strip exactly where it's always been - on the cool side of the viv, and using the Full Spectrum above her basking area - and shall check that the temp stays the same as now - 100-110F. I just wanted to check before using - as I've read on...

    Another light question

I have got Full Spectrum lighting for all my parrots - and they love basking under them - they have tube ones. If I can get FS ones in a bulb -would that be suitable for my beardie? The ones for my birds are the brilliant white, not the blue tint. (Interesting - they are cheaper than ordinary...

    Skinny Beardie

Thank God your "friend" parted with him before it was too late - and to someone who will love and care for him. From what I've read on here about similar situations, build him up slowly - the only thing you don't need to limit is love! Pictures when you can and lots of updates, please.

    Basking spot lamp bulbs

I don't think it's that - I've used a ceramic in there for months - no probs. Now it's winter and darker days, I like to use ones that give light as well as heat - so stop using ceramic. Thanks for replying - just wondered if ordinary spotlights are okay - not damaging to eyes?

    Basking spot lamp bulbs

I have always bought the basking bulbs sold for reptiles, but one exploded in the tank! Luckily, my beardie wasn't underneath it. Is it okay to use ordinary household spot lamp bulbs-100watt ? I've heard from others that they had the same thing happen - so wonder if a household bulb might be...

We arent bad owners just misinformed....

Please don't blame yourself - you bought everything in good faith - and there's only the pet store to blame for the trouble Rex is having now. You are a kind, caring owner - coming here, asking for help and putting things right for him. My sincerest condolences for the loss of your father, my...

HELP! Not eating and loss of 2 leg use. Getting Worse!

Perhaps if you phone first thing in the morning and explain how things are now, they might treat it as an emergency and fit you in? I feel the sooner he's seen the better - after reading on here how dangerous it is for them to be on their backs. You can't risk him doing that again and you not...
