    New

would love to see and hear more. Keep in mind that bearded dragons are often very solitary and as they get older...they may have trouble with each other in the same enclosure.

    Gertie's New Digs...

I'll monitor it closely, if bits fall of or if she is nibbling at it...i'll take care of it. Might find some way to seal it better.

    Gertie's New Digs...

Yeah, I'm thinking of taking it out or finding a way to make it unclimbable. I like the depth that it adds inside the tank...but not if she's climbing up and basking too close to the bulb.

    Gertie's New Digs...

That's actually a PowerSun MVB, plenty of UVB in the basking area...about 12 inches from the bulb...perfect. I don't feed crickets inside the enclosure, they are too good at hiding. I'll feed worms in the deep bowl that they cannot escape from, otherwise crickets will be fed in a large...

    Gertie's New Digs...

Hit up the Black Friday deal for the large Exo Terra enclosure and quickly got it set up for our new girl, Gertie. I'm very happy with where it's at now, but as we all know...it's never "done". Please forgive the mess of cables under the desk, need to get to organizing those tonight...just...

Exo terra 36x18x18 Black Friday Sale 50% OFF @ PS

I was waiting at 7am for them to open this morning and snagged one. Wound up to be the only one in stock. I couldn't understand why they would advertise such a great deal and then not replenish stock. Either way, I was very excited to take it home today...also ended up bringing home my new...

    LONG Time Away...Reintroducing myself

Yep...I used to have a smaller one for a leopard gecko. Pretty sure that's the way I'm going to go. I do like and will probably use an MVB bulb, so i'll just need to get a nice fixture for that.

    LONG Time Away...Reintroducing myself

Thanks for that link, those are a great deal at $40. I think those EXO-Terras are a great deal and they look nice. I will want something a bit bigger than 36x18x18 when the beardie is full grown, but that's a nice starter tank.

    LONG Time Away...Reintroducing myself

As you may or may not see by my post history, I was at one time very active here. That was almost 7 years ago now. From about 2006-2009 I had three dragons and fell in love with the reptile and hobby. When I lived in New Mexico it was an easy hobby to maintain. When taking a job in the...

    It's been a while everyone...

I appreciate the kind thoughts... Thankfully dexter is starting to cool down and brumate, I check on him all the time but maybe this winter will be a time for reflection and he'll wake up a new calm, submissive beardie :-)

    It's been a while everyone...

Ehhh....unfortunately it's been a rough year for my wife and I, I'm just now getting back in the swing of things and figured I'd update everyone on the Dex man

    It's been a while everyone...

Oh....attitude is not the word for this guy. I honestly think he has a switch flipped. He is the exception to the rule of the "Calm and gentle" bearded dragons. He's always in fight or flight mode...I haven't completely given up on him, but he's unbearable sometimes. He's a great eater as...

    It's been a while everyone...

Hey everyone...it's been quite a while since I've been on the forums. I was an addicted member of beardeddragon.org and still have not lost the love for beardies. If any of you remember me, my newest dragon "Dexter" who is only about 15 months now has really taken a nice size. He's huge...
