    Thank you for the response. I am aware that beardies generally like longer enclosures more but this guy reall loves to climb and be up high. My girls are definitely happy in the longer tanks but this guy is always trying to get as high as he can go and doesn't tend to move all that much along...

    The male does open his when he needs to in order to do something but otherwise shuts them. The female holds hers close all the time and barely wants to open the right eye at all.
