Why does my beardie get stress marks only while in his enclosure?

He has perfect temps 110-111 on surface basking side (measured with lazer thermometer) and 80 on the cool side with a gradient in between, eating and growing, FAST! And all of his stress marks go away when he’s picked up and held and outside his enclosure….what am I doing wrong to make him unhappy while inside his enclosure?? Is the uvb too far?? I took out the giant log because he likes to run around so much that it does no justice for his zoomies, but now I’m thinking with that out is the uvb too far, please reference my updated info on my profile as well as enclosure pics. The darkest stress marks/him in his hideout is him when he first wakes up in the morning at 7:21am (lights come on at 7)

IR guns can be off please get two digital probe thermometers they are the most accurate - please get some more decor and put under the uvb- is your screen a wide hole type? We need info on screen before I can give distance

It is probably due to having no substrate. That should be the most obvious thing,, no substrate and little to no decorations or artificial plants. The bearded dragon may be stressed from being in the tank since it has little to no enrichment for it.

Is this log okay?? This log made it 8-10 inches away from the uvb
We have the reptile carpet that we can lay on the bottom. Also we have a hammock but struggled to put it on as the suction cups would not hold on the pvc material

Please also look at my profile it is a wide screen I’ve talked to u about this in a previous post!! All good on the uvb placement I just didn’t know if it would reach the full length of the floor and all that

He runs around like crazy throughout the day. Very active that’s the reason I took the log out but may have to put it back in and see if he’s taking to it well
Hmmm. Maybe you can block off a part in your house for him to run around in... (Make to make that area as safe as possible!)

I’ll move the carpet to the floor, and put the big log back in and add some fake plants :) see if that helps. Thanks!!!

Also I have a hammock I can put into the enclosure however the suction cups don’t work so I don’t know how to properly secure it somewhere I may just have to hang it on the wall straight vertical

Get some 3 M velcro fasteners that should work -- is the screen fine mesh or wide hole type?

Hello,

They do love running around outside of their tanks. As suggested, moving a few things around
& adding some other climbing apparatus' should help. They can get bored sometimes.
He sure is a cutie & will definitely grow quickly!

Please see one of my posts, my beardie knocks to get out. They love to out and run your life, I mean house. I let Rocky out when he was of some size, made sure he was safe by starting him off in a playpen but I am totally ridiculous. LOL Just make sure the area is secure/safe.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
