Feeling not well

Does toothless look like he isn't feeling well to you.? He got up about an hour or so ago and when he pooped, there was a lot of blood. He eats okay (he slowed down a lot, like maybe 10 crickets a day) and eats treats everytime it's offered and eats about a quarter to half his salad but it's like.. he has no energy.? He just sits there. He's usually bangs at the glass when he sees Nova or headbobs and hasn't been doing that the last day or so and I don't know, it just seems like something is off. His temps are good, about 100 and surface temps are 99 to 101, typically. It just seems like he just doesn't want to do much else besides sit there.

He is about 9 months, has an arciadia t5 bulb and a 100w (either 100 or 150) thrive basking bulb. He eats his salads (kale, collard, turnip, mustard, bok choy, pepper) and eats both dubias and crickets and treats are hornworms, silk worms and super worms and he also gets BSFL.

He's looking a little under the weather- have you had his poop tested for parasites? If not you might want to call your vet ask if you can drop a fecal off No enemas- go from there sample should be 24 hours

We just had it tested and they said no parasites or coccidia..They're sending it off to another exotic vet and we have to call them at one. I'm super worried.. what could it be.? I don't know what I'd do if something happened to Toothless..

Also, the vet said they looked at it under the microscope and she said they didn't see blood under the microscope but it definitely looks like it.


That doesn't even make sense.?? Holy hell I feel sick..

What color peppers? Could it be red from those? I agree he does look like he don't feel well.

We just had it tested and they said no parasites or coccidia..They're sending it off to another exotic vet and we have to call them at one. I'm super worried.. what could it be.? I don't know what I'd do if something happened to Toothless..

They said it's not parasites or coccidia. They want him to go to a specialist for blood work and stuff. They said it could be as small as an internal injury or as big as cancer.

And we use yellow, it's his favorite but he hasn't had them in almost a week.

No, he goes every morning at the same time and has little hardly anything poops two or three times a day. He'll eat treats fine and has been headbobbing at Nova and the babies but we do have an appointment this afternoon with our emergency vet to get him looked at.

I hope not. The vet made it seem like since it wasn't parasites then it was something serious and I've been a nervous wreck since.

Chris is at the emergency vet now just waiting on a room

No tumor, visible kidney issue or sign of impaction. She's going to treat for parasites because those tests can be inaccurate and to lay off some of the harder exoskeleton worms, just to rule out that he isn't chewing food enough and it causing injury on the way out. To me, it looks like he may have smaller teeth than Novas so that may be the issue.

So not necessarily good news but not necessarily bad news. She said give it two weeks and if he's still bleeding, they'll move onto the more expensive/pain in the ass tests. She said it could be adeno/adrenovirus but if it's that, and he's showing symptoms, there isn't much they can do for him.

But she said he was real alert amd healthy looking so she's a little stumped as to why there's so much possible blood and that be the only symptom.

Just a heads up, antibiotics can and will (in my experience with my own) cause loss of appetite. Every single time I've given them it's happened. Hopefully that will save you some worry if it effects Toothless the same way
