Bent tail

Hello. My baby bearded dragons tail got hurt and I feel terrible that it even happened. This was about a week ago but he's been acting fine, moving around and eating normal. He does have sensation all the way to the tip and the bottom of the tail is not black. I've been gently massaging it which he doesn't seem to mind, I've also been soaking it in warm water. Is there anything else I should do? Will it stay bent like that? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Please keep an eye on it but if hes still go feeling in it he should be ok -- its when they lose feeling and it can become infected turn black etc-- we dont want that --- your lighting UVB is going to help w/ this make sure your using a good long tube fixture NO coils and it needs to be properly placed for the bulb -- good surface basking temps taken w/ a digital probe thermometer

I've been checking in on him almost obsessively. He has a long T5 uvb and I check his temp a few times per day with a thermometer gun.

Ok I recommend getting two digital probe thermometers for accurate surface basking temps- the IR guns can be off depending on the material the basking decor is made of --- the UVB is placed where top of screen or inside your tank?

Ok, I will look into them. Top of screen, we initially had a T8 but quickly found out that was not suitable for top of screen so we switched. It's been about 7 years since our last beardie and there's been so much new information, I feel completely new to this again! 😅

Ok for a fine mesh screen it needs to be inside the tank --- 12-15 inches directly above the basking decor- if its a wide hole type it can stay on top but distance would be 8-10 inches directly above the basking decor piece -- please change the bulb out around 10-11 months - they say a year but I recommend 10-11 months

Hello,

You can definitely place the T5 tube bulb underneath of the screen top,10-12 8 inches from him. Which
brand of T5 are you using?
How is his tail doing? I hope he is feeling well. Many do have tail injuries & are fine. Hopefully it will
heal up soon.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
