Anyone have opinions on beardies sleeping outside of there terr at night? Ive had such bad luck with ceramic heaters, the first one i got actually caught on fire and everytime i get one it clicks and smells like doritos and like its burning but not the smell of something heating up its a lot worse. I got her a heating pad for kittens so its small and round. I put it on the lowest setting at night and its never to hot its actually like a perfect temp to keep her warm at night but I put a blanket then a towel so she has 2 layers on top of that heat as well. I started putting a towel bc in the morning she takes advantage of the fact that shes out and goes poo bc she doesnt like doing in her terr. Anyways, my doors always shut no animals come in. Shes in a spot where I wouldnt roll on her anything like that, like shes safe and she seems to enjoy it. Ive been doing this for about a week and have had no problems exvept for her morning poos on the towels lol but is this something I shouldnt do? or is it okay?

I have heard that blankets don’t make beardie’s warm unless it is an electric blanket (however wouldn’t recommend an electric blanket). At nighttime for beardie’s the temp should be 18 to 21 degrees, if it is less or more than this temperature it is no good for her. Even if it is the right temp I don’t think you should continue to do this. However it is up to you.

As far as being out at night, it can be dangerous, beardies do sometomes get up and move at night, accidents can happen. Personally i don't recommend it.

Hey, my beardie is 14 years old this April and he has been outside the viv for 13 of those years
It's so controversial and I have been removed from beardie sites because I don't keep him a viv but his whole life has been like this...
Large cushion with a heat lamp
Cooler heated pad when he wants or cold cave for bedtime (bookshelf)
And supervised outside time in the warmer uk days
He loves the natural sunlight that comes through the window and will track the sun through the house
He has always had a varied diet his whole life but now only really wants worms.
I've attached a picture so you can see how he looks, his vet check was good he is very old for a beardie but no signs of I'll health
He is really slowing down now and a bit wobbly on his legs, but still goes where he wants to go, mostly cooler heat pad than the heat lamp.
In my experience take that little guy where ever you like, he will really appreciate it. He will love you for it

awww hes a cutie! and it is very opinionated, but she has no problems and she seems super comfy i know someone said sometging about blankets making them colder which i understand but i put the blanket and towel down so shes not directly on the heating pad yk, like im not using the blanket to keep her warm but I do agree with you, honestly I get up before her she doesnt roam around like ive tested this i just wanted others opinions on this. She seems happier when shes out 100% and she sleeps on me and when i go to bed i just put her in a warm spot yk?

I have a cat bed and dog bed. Rocky will determine when he wants to go in his enclosure and when he doesnt. Of course, I overrule him at times. There is a small shirt near and Rocky will cuddle up or cover himself with it. This also makes me feel better regarding safety.
Rocky used to NEVER move during his sleep but now he does -
I have cuddle time with him but I definitely make sure that he is put in his own bed. Rocky gives dirty looks. Know that the longer he stays out, the more he won't want to be in his enclosure--in the daytime or simply at all. I force him to go in as soon as he gets up to stick to his routine.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
