Feeding honey?

Hello, I was told to put raw honey on a little abrasion for my little guy so I googled if they can eat it just to make sure if he were to lick it it would be fine, and I read that honey could actually be a great thing to add to their diet. I was just wondering if anyone else has done this or tried it. I read 4 different articles and three of them said it was great and one said that it was very bad so I was just wondering everyone’s opinion, some of them also said a few times a week is good and other said a tbsp or two a day, so if anyone would have an exact amount that would be good for him I’d really appreciate it.

1-2 tablespoons of honey sounds like a huge amount of sugar for a little Dragon. That's got to be like 100 times more than what he could possibly get licking at a wound.

Bearded Dragons when young eat mostly protein, a bit of fat, and very few carbs. When older they switch to mostly vegetation which is also very low in carbs by volume. Even fruit like strawberries which are sometimes added sparingly as a "treat" and for hydration isn't something they would have access to naturally.

For those reasons I would be leary of giving honey unless it was for a specific medical reason. I think it's very safe for wound treatment, and not a problem if some is ingested. However adding it as a supplement, especially in the amount suggested (15-30ml) doesn't seem right to me.

Interested in others opinions though.

Yeah I knew that a tbsp or two would be WAY too much, but I was interested to see if anyone has ever added a little to their diets, I read that it can be very good for digestion and for energy, and helps fight inflammation or infection

I've used it mixed into a slurry. Never had fed it just straight out. You could, but I'd use it very sparingly and in small quantities. Like.. a drop of it.
