Chris is at the petstore trying to convince the guy there to let him have this baby that doesn't have any back feet. (Either fighting or birth injury) no one will pay 125$ for a deformed baby. We can give him a good home where he has a good chance of thriving.

If they let us have him, are there any complications that come with a handicap lizard.? He has no back feet and from what I saw, the nubs looked okay and i think he wss missing part of his tail. I don't know anything else about him, besides the nubbies. Just any other advice for us.? Are nubby lizards at higher risk of rolling over.? Is there a substrate/flooring that may be more comfy on his nubs.? We have non-adhesive shelf liner right now but we don't want his nubs getting raw from running around.

I dont think the shelf liner is not going to hurt him -- just keep an eye out -- as far as his disability they usually adapt to what they have to work w/ - rolling over would be neurological issue --- given the correct UVB NO coils and correct surface basking temps taken w/ a digital probe thermometer he should be okay unless there are other internal things going on that you cant see -- we can have AHBD take a look here and have her give her input--- if you get him please post pics of him

Looks like he is missing all his toes but his feet are still there. If thats the case he should thrive for you, and maybe be able to walk to some degree. He will probably still behave like any other beadie I.E. he will want to climb to bask, so when modeling his habitat maybe do ramps and bridges or something similar so he can climb safely. Mounds made of excavator clay may be a good option. All beardies like to have an elevated pertch to watch the world go by. He will still be triggered to eat by movement so a shallow escape proof bowl would likely work good for him.
I'm glad you got him, you've done great with Toothless and Nova, I know you will make sure he has a great life.

We currently have them in one tank, the decision to get them was literally last second, spur of the moment but we will separate them. He has one toe and is surprisingly fast and nimble. We made a little ramp for him to be able to get up there. We fed them separately and they gorged themselves we made a little ramp for him to lay on but he preferred the bigger piece.

The store takes in babies from a breeder who bred them.. grossly and would just dump them on the store and the owner would take them, no question. They had a ton of deformed babies from birth defects and/or fighting. We put nubby in the container to feed him baby roaches and I've never seen a handicap lizard run so fast.

Your last post is indicative of why I've done so much research on breeding. There are to many unethical people breeding these lil guys. I will NEVER put money before breeding healthy babies.

Right. Like when the lady at the store told me that, I lost all respect for the guy who owns the store. He doesn't really take care of them, they hire mostly teenagers who just don't care. Everytime i go in there, there's like 10 people and they're just sweeping or something. The lizards only have a uvb bulb over their tanks and that's it and some leaves thrown in and they use sand for substrate. So it was definitely a "we gotta get this guy out of here"

I'm just hoping that despite coming from a shotty breeder, they'll still be healthy.

They look good (minus the injuries) and you got them young so they won't be stunted. All on all i think those two got lucky

I kindda liked Nubby, could call him Nubs or stump for a nickname lol.
You have a Nova, i would probably keep with that theme. Andromeda, Quasar, ect.
