Hi everyone I just got a baby bearded dragon about 5 days ago He lives in a 40 gallon tank enclosure with a 150w basking bulb and a Reptisun 10 T8 UVB bulb his basking spots are around 105-120 and humidity is under 40% I have aluminum foil on top of the tank to insulate the heat because my house gets really cold. But i’m worried because my beardie hasn’t eaten in 2 days and hasn’t drinking water since yesterday please help!

I posted on your other thread so I am going to answer on this one--- with mouth open hes gaping which is good he adjusting his body temp --- how are you getting the surface basking temp? You want 2 digital probe thermometers --- place the probe where hes sitting 10 min or so get the temp 105-110 -- 120 is way too hot please take the foil off the top of the tank you want low 80's on the cool side --- the UVB needs to be directly over him back wall of the tank is not effective --- 6-8 inches directly above him -- as suggested a T 5 is better but the T 8 will work for now -- heater? Are you talking about the basking bulb or a CHE ceramic heat emitter ?

Okay so does in the pictures does he looks healthy? or??
I haven't been a keeper long enough to give much in the way of an opinion based on your pictures.

I'll say that Nothing strikes me as obviously wrong though. If he's moving around seeking out the light and heat that's a good sign

*edit* I had easier time with Dubia roaches than crickets personally. Especially when my Dragon was very small and it was hard to find crickets the right size. You don't want to feed anything larger than the space between his eyes. It can cause choking or obstruction. I fed 1/4 dubai from dubiaroaches.com. they are very small and cannot climb or bite.

If you do get them I recommend the little "escape proof" dish they sell. You can put the roaches in the dish and let him eat from it.

Obviously you'll have to make due until they ship to you, but afterwards it may make things easier

He looks good - we want to keep him healthy - w/ correct surface basking temps and correct placement and distance of the uvb he will do good- his appetite will be off till he acclimates to the tank and surroundings as he adjusts the appetite will increase- as mentioned feed insects ni bigger than the space between his eyes- are you dusting the insects?

The bsfl are excellent to feed- they are another staple feeder- use them as salad lures drop them on his salads in front of him feeding as many as you want- he needs salads every morning-- hopefully the tail will straighten out- we can have ahbd look at it see what she thinks- the calcium needs to be dusted on his crickets 5 x per week lightly coated one time per feeding/ day and vitamins w beta carotene 2 x per week ONCE per feeding/ day

Also is this healthy??
Looks like shed--- you can find the probes at Pet Smart or Petco or on line like pet mountain etc -- the basking bulb is good as long as its a solid clear bright white bulb and is keeping temps to what they need to be --- please get the probes before doing anything else w/ the basking bulb

They twist is a tail kink, it's fairly common. As for as the blue belly (and the solid black eyes) CONGRATULATIONS , your beardie my friend is a trans. ..... translucent that is lol. That makes for very pretty dragons, it is a complete lack of white pigment, thats why the eyes are solid black. The blue your seeing on the belly is it's internal organs. That will disappear with age, but the black eye will likely be life long.

Just found out he hates crickets i’m gonna try bslf
Get some dubia roaches- they are a great staple feeder- and will compliment the bsfl- those are small larvae and he's going to eat a ton so it best to have another staple feeder- you need to dust the roaches- if you need websites to get the I can post- cheaper on line than pet stores- get the roaches no bigger than the space between his eyes- he will eat anywhere between 10- 15 of them depending on how many bsfl he eats- that's the first feeding in the morning- I fed blaze around 25 bsfl w/ salads and 1-3 medium super worms in the morning then around 10 roaches about 1 hr later- I also fed silk worms as well - those were fed occasionally another good staple feeder-

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
