Yea.
I went back and reread your thread.
Did she stop eating before the vet visit or after? If it was after i would say it's the meds for parasites, antibiotics can cause loss of appetite in beardies.
My girl Snicker Doodles was a ferocious eater before she was given antibiotics, that was oct-nov ish. I still struggle to get her to eat now. My girl that passed was the same.
She stopped eating prior to the visit but I was suppose to have the results back after 4-5 days and it ended up taking them 2 weeks to notify me of her high viral load & then they didn't even have the meds so I had to find a place online, wait for the vet to approve the prescription request, and then wait on shipping which ended up being just under 3 weeks after her exam. So if her viral load was very high then I can only imagine how much worse it got with out any treatment. I read they can stop eating due to parasites so I'm assuming she was just too sick. I'm more worried that she has a lack of calcium from hardly eating any insects and no greens. I did buy her a probiotic and she's been eating a little better but I fear she may have developed mbd from the lack of calcium. I hope it's just lethargy but it looks worse and I'm scared

It can take some time before effects of the uvb start w/ negative behavior- like mbd one day the dragon is walking fine the next the dragon is not walking dragging legs etc
Do you have any advice on how I can hang my uvb? This is my current setup and I just don't know how to make it work. I'm so scared for her and am so mad that I was told it would be ok on top of the screen as long as it was within 6-8" of her basking spot since it can filter out some uvb

If the screen on the tank is a wide holed type it can stay on top but it should be 8-10 inches directly over the basking decor piece --- if you need it inside the tank you can hang w/ these things fishing line -- 3M Velcro fasteners-- picture wire hangers-- long plastic zip ties --- distance would need to be 12-15 inches then - I would move the log you have over to where your going to hang it or hang the UVB over that log piece as long as the distance is correct

So I actually have velcro strips that held the uvb in the inside when I first got her. I was told that the uvb was still too close to her while she was on the log and that it couldn't stay inside the tank unless I just got a piece of slate and put it on the floor. The tank from the floor to top is 15.5" and that's honestly the only reason I moved it to the outside of her tank. I may look into a wide hole screen or see if I can try to hang it from my other lights. Thank you for all input

You want the distance 12-15 inches from your basking decor piece -- if your tank is 24" tall you have plenty of room in the tank and it should be in the tank --- anything over 15 inches is too high

Mbd isn't going to develop over night, its more chronic. Beardies are hardy lil guys and can tolerate some mistakes from us. It's best to learn proper husbandry asap, but a few days or weeks even of having things slightly off isn't going to cause irreparable harm. There are so many stories around of beardies being tragically neglected and pictures of how bad off and sick they become that it scares people into a frenzy, especially people new to the hobby. But most of those beardies never had anything they needed to thrive. Your trying very hard to get your setup right, and you will. Karrieree can help you with the lights.
I do have advice on the Coccidia, I've fought it myself. Try to read up and understand it, it's an incredibly resilient parasite. There isn't much that will kill it. High heat 200ish degrees or Ammonia. Both have to be in contact with it for around 10 minutes to kill it. You can use a steam wand to sanitize your habitat but it's slow go. If you use Ammonia remember it is toxic after the clean up be sure to rinse thoroughly and air out to zero fumes. Sanitize or replace all decor, soaking in boiling water or baking in the oven at 200 degrees for ten minutes or so will kill the parasites. After you have everything cleaned up you can use f10, wipeout (Ammonia based so back to airing out) or chlorhexidine (what i use, you can get a gallon at tractor suppy in the horse section for 20 bucks) to spot clean up poop.
Coccidia's life cycle requires it to be pooped out and reingested to multiply. If your break it's life cycle you cure it. Beardies lick everything so if they poop and drag their tail in it or walk through it, they spread it around and end up reingesting it. All the sanitizers i listed are vet and zoo grade.
Beardies can carry a small load naturally and their bodies can handle the work of keeping it under control, it's when they start picking up extra from their environment is when it becomes an issue. Thats why i say break the life cycle and you cure it. Sorry for the long post and if your still reading I'm impressed lol.

Thank you so much. I actually do both ammonia and steam clean for her basking rock and hide, then wipeout rinse and dry. We steam clean her tank after every poop. I boil her water and food dishes and anything else small and let it set in the water until it cools. She ate all of her insects and some salad today without me tong feeding her so she's starting to perk up. She still isn't lifting herself up when she walks and kinda drags her belly so I'm still worried. I hope she is resilient because I did so much research prior to getting her and feel like my vet failed me by telling me the lighting on top of the screen was ok along with taking 3 weeks to give me her diagnosis of coccidia when it should have only been 4 days.

My tank is only 15.5" tall so I hardly have any room. I attached some photos of her legs/feet and would love to send video of her walking if that's possible. I'm new to the group so I don't know if or how to send videos.

Strap it to the top of the tank and get a low piece of decor-- record on YouTube and post the link

Reptar is a pretty dragon and looks healthy as well. Her head cramped against the wall is not star gazing, just one of the manu curios poses they get in sand even will sleep that way . Crazy, I know ! Still, if you're concerned about ADV you can have her tested by Tracie, she works with the main lab/clinic that are working on a cure.

As far as the vet tech fishing the poo sample from the garbage, that was and is a problem because it DOES open up the possibility that it was cross infected . Too bad that happened, they should not have charged you for that test IMO.

Reptar is walking O.K, dragging her belly might be from her shedding there, it doesn't look like a problem either way.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
