Just concerned

Hey all! So I have an almost 6 month old beardie.. she’s always been a big eater (like 20-30 Dubias a day plus greens and veggies).. now that she’s nearing 6 months.. is it normal for her to be eating less bugs?? I don’t want to force her.. because yesterday she only had maybe 7 (I did go up in bug size which prob affects it)… and today she had around 12. I used to feed her Dubias twice a day but it seems like she only wants them once + greens and veggies.. could she be transitioning to bugs every other day??

Also I came home to her in water dish. Possibly overheating?? It seems like lately she wants to be in the shade/cooler side.. is she lowkey trying to Brumate?? Does she have the winter blues? Her lights go off at 8 and the past few nights she wants to sleep around 6… I’m a sucker so I take her out and let her cuddle me.

Is she just growing up and eating less bugs? Could a shed be coming? She’s very healthy otherwise (just went to the vet couple weeks ago for basic checkup).. thanks!

At six months brumation should be out of the question. They "shouldn't" brumate till they are an adult. Also at six months she is still growing so keep offering the protein. They do go through spells where they slow down with food, sometimes just switching feeders for a bit will solve it. They get bored with having the same food all the time same as us.
Do be careful with your ambient temps she needs a cool side in the low 80's so she can cool down if she needs to.

Haha they “shouldn’t” but they can? Yes I just had 200 Dubias delivered today so I won’t stop with offering the protein.. I also turned off her heat emitter as I think it was getting too hot for her along side the basking bulb. Thanks!

Make sure shes getting salads --- you want her eating those not just protein at the age of 1 that diet is going to flip to where shes only getting insects 2-3 times per week - you want 3 temps in the tank surface basking temps of 95-100 taken w/a digital probe thermometer -- shes 6 months she wont want those of hot temps now as when she was younger -- middle of the tank 90's and cool side 80ish --- night time temps 65-75

Thanks! I always offer salads. She mainly loves the squash :)

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
