Black Bearding and Hiding

Hi Everyone,

My beardie Fire has always been a very chill guy and the only time he's black bearded was when he was temporarily housed in the same room as another bearded dragon. When I saw him this morning, his beard was super black and he was hiding. Now he's out in the open and walking around, but his beard's still black. His temps are fine, I checked but I don't know what could be stressing him out this much. He is shedding his back thigh right now, but he's never done anything like this when shedding before. He also was in his hide most of yesterday and hasn't used the bathroom in over a week. I'm starting to get concerned that he might be getting sick, but I want more opinions on what I should do. Can they get allergies? I attached a few pics of him today to this post. Thanks!

Something has him in distress- I am assuming he is no longer in the same room w/ the other dragon - any other pets around car/dogs? By a window where he can see birds?

Thanks but I took him out of his tank and held him for five minutes and his beard's back to normal.

Wow- nothing like a little lovin' to fix the problem- keep an eye on him

As long as he stopped black bearding.

Males are way more likely to black beard. All kinds of stuff can set them off, it makes it important to monitor because they also black beard when there is health issues. Keep an eye on him just in case. (Not trying to scare ya at all, just making sure you are aware )

Hey guys,

He just started black bearding again and I'm not sure what from.
I don't know of anything that could be stressing him out, he's not still w/ the other beardie.
We don't have any cats or dogs, we have a crested gecko and hamster, but they're in separate cages and have lived in the same room with Fire their whole life. Could he be sick? What other signs should I look for? It's been going on and off all day today. He's not doing it any more at the moment, but he was like ten minutes ago. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

I think he might be uncomfortable shedding.

Ok keep an eye on him -- he may have had a upset stomach - now that he has pooped see if it goes away all together-- what are you feeding him? Any broccoli spinach ?

No broccoli or spinach, he usually gets a mix of arugula, kale, dandelion greens, mustard greens, collard greens, chard, and occasionally romaine lettuce. (whatever I have in my fridge at the time). He eats about 10-15 dubia roaches once or twice a week. Thank you so much!

Ok so hes got a good diet --- something is bothering him --- I am going to get a few more people on here to see what they think the cause is ---------- can he see his reflection?

It's a Zen Habitats three of the sides are wood, only the front is sliding doors.
