This is his basking spot. The light in the back is his heat lamp. So once I remove the dome with the uvb, could I mount the new light on the lid in its place.? The tank is 2 feet tall so if it needs to be 8 inches from him, I don't know how to get it closer

What kind of surface basking temps are you getting w/ the basking bulb on top of the screen- I would get rid of the coil NOW - its not doing any good anyway - more harm than good -- he will be fine --- your going to haft to play around w/ the area in question - you want the UVB in the tank so you can set it up in the middle of the tank I am going to post for reference my tank its a 120 gallon tank you can see how I have mine set up and go from there -

Yes just make sure you are getting a distance of 12-15 inches w/ the UVB and the surface basking temps of 95-100

Did they give you a ship date for the Pro T 5?

They canceled the order for some reason. It doesn't say so now I have to call them and wait to talk to someone. It was supposed to be same day delivery.

Ok well find out you dont want to go too long w/ out a UVB unless you can take him outside every day for some direct sun that is good UVB there

How long should he be.? He's finally getting used to being outside. Still a little freaked out, but he rode in the car with no bookbag and sat the whole time.

Of course, he stared wide eyed like a paranoid crackhead the whole time, but it's progress.

15 minutes in direct sun - sitting on you or in a plastic tote but you must supervise him --- do not leave him -- I dont know what your temps are like where you are but it should be 65+ degrees

It's been chilly here lately but sunny. I live in georgia so the highest It's been is like 65 by late afternoon. But my car harbors a decent amount of heat so we could go sit in it so it's warm and he can be in the sun.

Your car window is going to filter the sun not good- you want direct sunlight -- I would look at getting another fixture since you dont know when the Arcadia is coming here is another one

Hey off subject but is this normal.? I had to pry her mouth open to give her some pinworm meds and they were there after. Her mouth is a pain in the ass to get open. The black mark on her lip

I cant tell what that is - is that the side you pried open and what did you use? I would get someone to help you get a Q tip and have someone open her mouth from the side and you be ready to administer the med -

Yeah, I did it on that side. I tried on the other but she kept slinging her head too much.

I used the syringe, I tried a q tip and it just wouldn't open, she clenches her mouth real tight and I can't even get her lips open. I just don't want to hurt her trying to help her.

Well, the black mark on her lip is actually gone so I don't think it hurt her. She's still mad, tho.
