She just shed her whole back recently and now it’s darkening all over again and certain spots seem to be changing pattern, it’s very strange. Also she has a stench on certain areas of her body. It smells almost like spoiled milk sort of. Also, this shed has been stuck on her tail and feet for over a month. It seems to be restricting blood flow or something. Then I noticed dark spots appearing randomly on her face and none of it seems to be shedding off at all. What do I do? She’s almost 3yrs old and this has never happened like this before.

She looks to be a leatherback, both of mine take longer to shed than my none leatherbacks. You can soak her in a lukewarm bath a couple times per week or get some shed-ease to spray on her. The main place to watch is the toes and tail tip. You could use coconut oil also, just enough to keep it from constricting. Beyond that let it do it's thing.

Hi there, I remember Echo lina from a short while ago, you thought you had to help her shed and worked on getting it off. That was one mistake that can complicate the shed cycle so she's just shedding unevenly again. I know you love her and are very scared for her so you are a caring owner. :)
You've had her to 6-7 vets and the last one has you convinced that this is a serious fungal infection which it's not, and they also told you that she needs aggressive, long term treatment. I wish I could ease your mind . It's just uneven shed and she has a slight natural tiger pattern on her back. Nothing serious is going on if anything just slight irritation from when you tied scrubbing the shed off. You mentioned that you're OCD, it's O.K, many people are and yours is contributing to how you are perceiving your dragon's situation. I don't think we've ever seen anyone go to 6-7 vets . Just try to take a step back and not worry so much, it'll be O.K !

I’m so glad you’re familiar with us lol and my over the top overthinking/overreacting. I’m just so scared of something being wrong and not catching it before it’s too late. She’s my whole world. I do feel much better now that you made it make sense. I need to leave her alone and quit obsessing over every little thing. Thank you so so much! I appreciate the peace of mind and I will let nature be nature:) you’re the best ❤️❤️

can you post pictures of her tank? also whats the temps in her tank on the right and left side and what's the humidity levels?
All is well, I’m just overreacting and freaking myself out. I appreciate your support and I’m grateful for you trying to help. I’m just ocd with anxiety and worry too much. I’ve received reassurance by a wonderful vet specialist @AHBD that everything is ok. Thank you again ❤️

It's O.K, people are always happy to help on this forum. Caring for a beardie can be confusing, reptiles are much different than dogs + cats and there's lots of conflicting info on the internet to scare us all at times ! And sometimes our pets seem off in some way and we want everything to be alright . :)

Hello,

I concur with AHBD, while it is so hard to not worry when things don't appear normal, we are all
here to help with the best, most accurate information for you.
That is terrific you found a good vet, that helped to put your mind to rest. So you are feeling better
about the situation now I hope?
Let us know how everything is going!

I was feeling better but she completed shedding and for maybe 1 day after: her skin looked so good, then I noticed it significantly darkened all over again and has more and more black spots on new scales and patches that are like a dark dark grey/brownish and her scales seem to be falling off. Even just picking her up. Then her scales on her stomach keep catching as she moves around her enclosure/moving around on her stick. She seems to be walking super crouched/low to the ground and seems like she’s in pain just by walking. Her back legs look shriveled up at the thigh/knee area and are also dark grey/blackish brown, and her scales there seem to be frequently falling off as well. Her bowel movements look excellent aside from a new horrific smell and pure liquid accompanying her (what seems to look like normal poo and urate). So now I’m freaking out and worried again. Lastly, the last bath I washed her with a soft toothbrush and her skin gave off a horrendous smell. Any ideas? Recommendations?

We need to have ahbd and Drache613 respond again - I am going to recommend you get her into a vet w/ the bad skin smell and scales falling off and in pain walking --- are you using a good UVB like a long tube fixture correctly placed and distanced? Please tell me what exactly your using-- and where its at in the tank-
www.arav.org please type in the closest big city if your in a small town / area

She is the same as before, nothing different with her scales. You're just getting fixated again. As for her funny walking, can you get a short video of it, maybe at least a minute long ? She may be crouching + creeping around due to all of the constant bathing + scrubbing stressing her out but a video would be SO helpful.

I’m in north olmsted Ohio so Cleveland I suppose but I’m willing to drive any distance if I can find a reputable specialist. We’ve seen 7 in our area (including canton and Akron) and have not been helpful. I am going to attach pictures of her enclosures and the lighting along with the temps. She has full access to both enclosures at all times, we cut 2 holes in the screen of her main house so the light would reach better. The loose substrate enclosure is a newer edition (about a month) and no water is put in that enclosure but she has one in the other house. No loose bugs are given inside of either enclosure.

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
