Someone answer this for me please.. can a beardie still eat normal if something is stuck in it's throat? I think but I'm not sure but It kinda looks like there's something stuck in there but he eats like crazy but like sometimes he'll be eating he'll take a bite stop and hold his mouth open? He's a juvi is 9" long. He never gets food bigger than it should be I'm thinking of opening his mouth and if I see something have someone help and get it out with tweezers but I wanted y'all's opinion first before I do all that and make him mad at me. I'm in love with my lil dude I'm always so paranoid something may be wrong with him but he eats crickets and greens and rn phoniex worms is his main diet I offer as much as he wants 3-4 times i day I'll also hand feed him some every time I walk by his tank also. What got me stressing is I fed him half a raisen a week or so ago and so I'm worried maybe that got stuck? Hopefully I'm just overthinking and all is well. Here's a pic of our vibe sesh a little while ago

Hello,

Well, they could still eat if there was something small stuck in his throat. You fed him half of a raisin
a week or so ago?
Has he been black bearding at all, during the day?
I wouldn't use tweezers though, because if something went wrong he could get injured. Can you get
a picture of his throat somehow?

Yeah it's been a week or more he doesn't black beard or really have any marks but first thing in the morning. He does kinda puff his beard out sometimes and too me it almost looks like he's gagging but I've read that's normal and it's just them stretching. Also sometimes he'll puff up and hold his breath for a couple seconds and that freaks me out. I can't get a good pic of inside his mouth I've tried a bunch already.

Beautiful photo.
You've really captured his beauty in this one.

Don't put the tweezers in his mouth. Could be dangerous.
When he's swallowed the food, he's swallowed it.
And it doesn't come back up.

I've rarely seen these critters gag/puke.
If his throat in an outer appearance looks okay, then that's perfectly normal.
I don't think they can get stuff stuck in their throat unless it's larger than the width of their eyes.

What are you feeding him.?
How often.?
These things are Carnivores as kids.
They can eat pinky mice.

Of course, I don't know everything.
You'd have to ask a professional.
That's just my 2cents.

I like your black socks man.
I'm wearing white.

I'm 100% certain there's something stuck in the upper part of his throat I was just sitting here by his tank and he puffs up his beard a couple times and opens his mouth I can see it.
He eats medium or small crickets and phoniex worms 3-4 times a day greens offered couple times a day ..
How should I go about getting it removed? What could I use if not tweezers.. I'd do more research first but wanted ppls opinion on here first? Should I not do anything since he's eating and everything fine? Will it eventually work itself out?

Yeah all I wear is black socks lol

Are you sure it's not a respiratory tract infection.?
Palpate his throat softly to see if it is clicking.

Is he eating properly.?
I'm not fully understanding.

As long as he's eating pooping and drinking water, I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
Let's see if someone else can help.

If he eats like crazy dude,
Don't even stress.

I know it sounds weird.
Just feed him a little more slowly.
Let him digest his food properly.

If there's no proof that there's something stuck in his throat.
Then don't even worry.
If you're really concerned. Please take him to the vet and possibly do an X-Ray. Talk to them and say, 'I think he got some food lodged in his throat, can you do a thorough examination and X-Ray?'

We are not concerned about food getting lodged in their throat.
Unless it's bigger than the space between his eyes.

How moist was the raisin.?
It's highly unlikely unless the raisin was dehydrated to the point it was 99.9% dehydrated 'raisin' and had no moisture.

If you're truly concerned about it, take him to a registered vet immediately. Any vet will help.
Especially in emergency situations.

It looks like he's basking in the photo.

Almost want to say 'smiling' although that is not an observable behavior in these animals.
Do you have a light over him.?

No signs of panting?
No signs of difficulty breathing?
How many times per day is he like that? Minutes; Hours: Seconds?

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
