Yes, it comes from bad mood, stress or pain. She would be in bad mood + stress from what she went through, she was very debilitated just 2 days ago.
She’s been responsive to water she’s usually a fatty will never say no to food it’s so sad seeing her not eating - hope it’s just from stress or a bad mood

I’m also very concerned she hasn’t been basking at all but her heat temps are fine - no basking would affect her, no? Arent they supposed to bask everyday?

Stress can do it, just remember that she's doing better than she was 2 days ago, much better. Don't worry about basking right now, she's not feeling optimal and they don't always do what we think they should in our minds. Try not to over think everything. I know it's hard, hang in there.

She truly is doing much better than she was 2 days ago
Could be but we don't know for sure- uvb is critical - when do you expect the new uvb
Arrives Wednesday
Also I realized earlier, I gave you the old UVB I had not the new one - this is the one I have, not the curly one: Thrive Desert 10.0 UVB Bulb | reptile Bulbs & Lamps | PetSmart
Is this one also bad?

Yes --- those coil UVB's are all inadequate- ok so 2 more days --- the UVB needs to be installed as soon as you get it please install it like I posted earlier for placement and distance

That's a compact, they're also inferior in uvb output so getting the one Karrie recommended will be a good upgrade.

So not a good idea to turn it on until the new one arrives Wednesday? Just leave the UVA?

Also update: blackness in beard going down! Assume it’s the hydration

Good to see the blackness is going down- just leave your basking light on- the coil is doing no good -

I’m noticing the blackness fluctuates but gets darker in the evening. In the morning it was dark, then it lightened a lot, then it darkened then darkened even more. In the morning yesterday she looked completely fine no blackness almost all day, then at night it went black. Hopefully tomorrow after the vet she’ll be good. Hydrated a lot today, was much more active than Saturday, almost like one of her normal days. She basked on her own too, climbed her branch twice. Hoping the blackness is just stress. Her eyes are also no longer sunken and she’s alert - except when nighttime approaches, she’s sleeping earlier. I sat close by her tank before turning off her lights and she came towards me like she usually does and climbed onto my shoulder :’( only 10 min and I put her back into her bed worried about temps. Don’t mind my boogers in the photo they’re from crying lol

Will have her transport look like the photo attached - they’re hand warmers, I will cover the hand warmers with my sweaters, I have holes on top of the box for ventilation and will take a cab. Will pack water and bring her fecal sample.

Wish us luck at the vet tomorrow. Praying all goes well

Hope all goes well ! Just use a couple, no more than 2 handwarmers. Please listen, it's very important , your dragon will get heat exhaustion or even death with that many, they get up to 156 F and can overheat a reptile quickly ! EDIT....Did you open the heat packs tonight already ? Because if they are 8 hour packs they will be fizzled out tomorrow. You have to open them about 40 minutes bfore using, shake them slighly and then use them as planned, under the sweater in the box.

i know it is short notice for your vet trip, but for future reference, this is what we use on trips. it will let you hook a seat belt through loops on the back to secure it while driving. our vet is 2 hours away from our house. the car keeps things warm enough we don't need the heat packs while driving.

granted you have much colder outside temps right now than we do, but the packs would only be needed while you are outside unless the cab has no heater. and then you would only need one or two at a time

I suggested 2 because the box is pretty big and the taxi will probably be room temp., around 70F but if it feels too warm in the taxi then one heat pack can be taken out. So you may be right about just using one if the cab driver keeps the cab warm.

all depends on the ambient temps of the cab i'm sure. our trips are in the summer so we only ever use one. but we've never had to transport a sick dragon, just routine check-ups, so the extra warmth might be good in this case.

and i won't lie, if it were me, even if i didn't use them all at once, i'd still take all the ones i have. ya never know what's gonna happen and i like to over prepare!

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
