Brown gums

Hi! Beans has some brown spots on the front of his gums. At first I thought maybe it was just some stuck food but it’s been there for a while so I think that it is plaque or the start of periodontal disease. I wanted to try the Maxi guard and betadine, but I just want to make sure I get the right stuff. Can someone tell me exactly what to get? Seems like there was a lot of options online. Thanks!

Can you post some photos? It's fairly common to have some buildup around the gums. Especially as they get older and if their diet doesn't include many hard shelled bugs (abrasive). For cleaning gums I usually suggest MaxiGuard Gel which comes in a blue squeeze bottle. You can rub it along teeth and gums using a qtip as needed.

It’s hard to get a good picture of his gums but here’s one. It’s just a little bit of brown in the front of his bottom gums. He eats roaches and some crunchy stuff like squash and carrots. I don’t know what else crunchy things I can give him?

That doesn't look too bad based on that photo. Just a bit of discoloration along the front gumline. The roaches should provide enough crunch. Occasional superworms or some cleaner crew beetles might be good to rotate in, but I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
