blood in stool?

My beard has been acting very normally, pooping very normally, but much larger poops than usual lol I assume its because she's grown so much she's 7 months old - but she just pooped now and looked like she struggled (was hanging off her tree), was a little watery (probably due to feeding her water with a syringe + hornworms?) but I did notice one tiny red droplet on her tree where she had pooped. Is this something to worry about or could it be due to overeating? I have noticed that three days ago maybe, there was still a nutrigub in her poop undigested/looked like it was still alive? The nutrigubs are medium sized (size between eyes rule)
Her staple is nutrigubs + hornworms are treats, mealworms on occasion bc I worry they cause impaction - I used to feed her Dubai roaches up until a month ago
The only change in her diet the last 3 days besides that is giving her 2-3 hornworms a day, used to be 1.

The closest vet to me is also 3 hours away by car. I was thinking of waiting to see her next poop/monitor her behavior first?

yes watch the next poop - are you feeding anything red? red peppers strawberries- please post a pic of it - undigested bugs means surface basking temps are not high enough- what are they and how are you taking them?

Not feeding anything red, just greens. She won't eat any fruit of vegetable except for spinach.
The surface basking temp is 104? I thought that was high enough?

what are they and how are you taking them? - what is this referring to?

Your temps how are you getting the surface basking temps? Please no more spinach -- how many BSFL are you feeding at a time- sometimes if they are fed a lot at a time or if the dragon eats them too fast they will swallow them whole w/ out chewing them up

Karrieree beat me to it, spinach should not be a staple, i don't even feed it ever. It's a calcium binder and can keep them for absorbing the calcium in they food they eat.

Your temps how are you getting the surface basking temps? Please no more spinach -- how many BSFL are you feeding at a time- sometimes if they are fed a lot at a time or if the dragon eats them too fast they will swallow them whole w/ out chewing them up

Why no spinach? I thought dark greens were safe for beardies?

Im feeding around 25-35 at a time of BSLV, I did also think she was just swallowing them so I started hand feeding her one at a time hoping she chews

Hello,

Spinach is healthy but it has higher levels of oxalates which are known to bind calcium. Since reptiles
can develop calcium deficiencies fairly easily, it's best to try & avoid excess amounts of food which
contain oxalates so their calcium intake isn't bound & not fully absorbed. Once in awhile is ok. We all
recommend mustard or collard greens, arugula is good, kale is popular & even dandelion greens are
usually well tolerated.
Try to get more oral fluids into her to be sure her system is well hydrated. Are her urates hard or soft?

Tracie and Xp29 answered the question about the spinach -- the thermometer does have a probe or does not have a probe? I cant tell from the pic -- you want ones w/ probes - your getting ambient temps w/ out the probes - the smaller amounts of BSFL is best even 5-6 at a time - it will slow her down on eating them and make her chew them up instead of gobbling them up so fast

Oh god I had no idea about the spinach I read online that it was good. I’ve stopped since then. THANK YOU

Her urate is not hard or soft its normal like the rest of her poop, her urate is not watery

She’s also shedding now, she barely ate today just 25 BSLV but I think she’s just being sneaky because she’s aware I have hornworms, I fed her one next to her bowl of food and she completely sprinted towards the hornworm. Did it again a few hours later and same thing - didn’t even touch her bowl just ran for the hornworm. Also she pooped, no blood this time was super normal but I will keep watching. No idea what could’ve caused that little drop of red

Digital probe thermometers are not real expensive - you can order them online w/ a shipment of your insects- usually the websites carry them look for zoo med or Petco or PetSmart has them but are higher- www.dubiaroaches.com

Hello,

Great, let us know how the ordering goes. The digital probe & or temp guns are very accurate. The
stick on types are ok for humidity & ambient temperatures but not basking spot accuracy.
