Ponazuril dosage

Estinien had been a bit lethargic the last few days (still eating and basking though) so I set up a vet appointment and fecal exam. The fecal exam came back positive for pinworms and coccidia, but the vet only wants to treat the coccidia as the pinworm count was not very high. He weights 346 grams and they prescribed ponazuril 1ml by mouth once and then another 1ml by mouth 48 hours later. Does this dosage seem correct and is there anything else I should do?

Edit: It's 10mg per ML as well. They're also making me order it online through a partner because it's not something they keep in stock and I have to order 15ml for almost $60. Not seeing anywhere cheaper online though so I'm going to order it but shipping says 3 to 5 days.

Tracie the vet tech mod on here needs to address this

Before you buy an expensive medicine I'd take Karrieree's advice.
Tracie runs a website with those meds.
@Drache613
It's already been purchased at this point as I noticed the 3-5 day shipping and wanted to get it ordered ASAP. Cost isn't a huge issue, was just frustrated with the situation when posting. I'll wait for any more input though, as it's appreciated.

Hello,

The 1ML dose for your dragon of 346grams or .35KG is about right. It is a bit over the 20mg/kg
dose but fine. The medication is safe when dosed properly so he will be ok with that amount.
Most of the time, the Ponazuril & Toltrazuril anti-coccidial agents only need to be given for a few
doses to knock out most infections.
Be sure to keep him hydrated while on the meds.

Thanks so much, I will! Unfortunately the ponazuril won't be here until Friday. He is still doing ok in the meantime, chasing and eating crickets and picking at his greens, just spending more time in his hide sleeping.

Hello,

No problem at all! I am glad he is doing well, eating his bugs & greens. Once you do get the
Ponazuril in let us know how things go!

Got the meds just now, just want to clarify again as it seems like a lot but I need to fill this all the way up to 1ml? I just don't want to over do it. Also, any tips on how to feed it to him are welcome.

Edit: Bit the bullet and gave him his first dose, he did ok and got most of it but towards the end he clamped shut and some got on his face instead of inside of his face. Should I be on the lookout for anything?

Ok, doing a deep clean of his tank and everything today again. Got this disinfectant, it says ready to use so I assume I don't need to dilute but wanted to see if anyone here had experience with it. Plan on using it on the tank itself as well as his basking fixture and hide.

Edit: Took everything out, rinsed and scrubbed with hot water, then sprayed the stuff and his tank with the disinfectant and let it all sit for 10 minutes. After that I rinsed everything down, wiped his tank out with wet paper towel, and dried everything.

Hello,

How are things going?
You don't have to bathe him real often, no. You can get a plastic dropper to drop water onto his
nose & he should drink it that way.
The 1ml for dosing is correct, I did check the dosing. It seems like a lot but the strength of the
solution isn't super strong.
You could give a bit less, say .7 or so to be sure he is ok with that.
Which disinfectant did you get?
Let us know how everything is going.

Things seem to be going well, I gave him 2 doses of the full 1ml 48 hours apart and it doesn't seem to have had any negative effects.

I got F10 "ready to use" disinfectant (it's just pre-diluted)

That's good...

If it's pre-diluted.
Yes, it's ready to go.
What strength?

I'd clean the tank 1-2X a day & if you can use cardboard furniture.
Spot clean if you can.

I recommend mixing the F10 yourself.
They give a lot for the price, and you'll have plenty.

Hello,

That is great to hear you haven't seen any negative side effects, I didn't think that you would,
but it's always good to have no problems!
Were you able to get the F10 diluted anymore, or did you use it as was already prepared?

Let us know how things are going!

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
