They can do that- reptisun will warranty the bulb contact them or who you bought it from

are arcadia bulbs less likely to do this than zoo med? I can switch the arcadia bulb in to the zoo med hood, correct?

Yes and they are both good bulbs - I use both

Hi again, I just bought another bulb and it turns out it was the hood that was not working, is this common? what might have happened?

Great- you got a dud- they had bad batches come out here a couple months back - have them replace it-

Do you have a source for that, the store i bought the bulb from inspected it to make sure it works and was not defective so I am going to have a fun time trying to return it.

Make sure your circuit that electric is running on is good too. Like in your home

Yes .. sorry i somehow missed this thread. I had 4 fail in about as many months, it was the hood on all 4. I'll link my thread with the video.

Please plug the fixture into another plug in in the house --- are you plugging it into a strip or just a regular plug in - ?
