HI!

First time beardie owner here. So if you're in california you'll know that lately here it's been rainy and cold! been raining non stop for the past two days with temps not going above high 50's so im thinking that might be the issue. But to be honest even we we adopted glizzy his personality was very chill, we met a few other dragons who ran all over and were very spunky! but we liked glizzy's laid back attitude. he's the kinda guy who likes to crawl around on the bed for a few minutes and then nestle up on your shoulder. We finally got his lighting and basking set to what we think is the correct temps for him as he actually basks now, he eats a lot of greens in the morning and then 2-4 dubia roaches (he used to eat more bugs but he seems to favor greens at this point). I've just noticed that he's not a very active guy the past week or so and the last few days he's really taken refuge under his log. He'll bask for a bit in the morning and then jump down and go hide/nap. Im curious if this has anything to do with the weather? maybe he's semi brumating? We have a T8 Reptisun 10.0. that is mounted inside the viv with command hooks exactly 6 inches above his basking spot. It was on top of his screen before but another user told us to mount it inside the cage so we did :) His basking spot stays in the range of 95-98 degrees we've noticed anything hotter than that and he wont bask (he's kinda a picky dragon) are some dragons just less active than other's ? is it brumation time and im just being overly worried? His poops looks healthy and he poops about once a day or once every other day. Are beardies affected by the weather? not exactly sure on his age but another user thought he was around 6-8months old.

They can be effected by the weather - are you getting your surface basking temps w/ a digital probe thermometer- your T 8 is how old? Need to rule out these things first

Yes! and Yes! Digital Probe and T8 was just purchased and taken out of the package just a little under two weeks ago, purchased on Dec. 31st. I removed the plastic covering off of the linear bulbs fixture, so that the uvb is not obstructed by plastic and then measured and hung 6 1/2 inches from basking spot with metal command hooks.

I would say its the weather --- just keep an eye on him for unusual behavior -- like not eating not basking not pooping etc

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
