Hi Tracie - she is basking occasionally yeah, unable to get food into her though. What's the best way to do this?
Syringe feed her -- very slow and make it runny so shes getting hydration -- your UVB is not in a fixture? I cant tell -- how long has she been on sand?

It was on a fixture but I dropped it temporarily to get it closer to her - she's been on sand the full 12 Years.

I've just noticed I think she may have a problem with her spine.

Please get it back into the fixture -- what bulb are you using? The sand is not really a good substrate - it harbors bacteria and very hard to keep clean - being shes been on it for so long I dont know if it would do any good to take her off it now -- have you every had any impaction issues w/ her being on it?

No impaction issues - I have just noticed this issue and seem to think this is what's causing her the problem does anyone have any ideas what this could be? She seems to have dislodged her spine and has a lump at the tail that I just noticed

I dont know unless its a calcium issue- what UVB bulb are you using? I am going to flag Tracie - shes on late at night - maybe AHBD can help here but that UVB is crucial here - we need to get that set back up properly for her in the tank --

The uvb being closer will help if she's not absorbing calcium so that was a good move. If the reflector is not right behind the bulb you can use a folded piece of tinfoil to increase the uvb reflecting but having it close is better than too far. Only an xray would tell you about the lumps but it may or may not be related. You're doing the best you can though in the situation.

She is booked into the vets so I will update soon - I may have jumped the gun on the spine issue as upon closer inspection it looks like a lump she has on the other side also. I just need to find out why she keeps flipping so I can treat her

Yes - I do think you could have been right earlier and she is dehydrated. What is the best way to re-hydrate her? I am going to try the butternut squash baby food in a syringe to feed her, I will continue with her liquid calcium. I read adding a drop or two of juice in her water may attract her to drink that?

Should I mist spray her?

You can put a little plastic lid under her head and drip water directly on her nose. Many times they will drink the drops right as they fall but it might take a minute of slow dripping. You can put a few drops of non citrus no sugar added fruit juice in or some raw honey.

Not really, I wouldn't go for any aggressive treatment or a number of different shots. But you never know, hoping for the best !

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

i feel so sad reading your about me 😢
Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
