I’m not sure where to put this but my beardie won’t lay directly under his basking light, he will lay around it and bear it but no directly under. Is that okay? Is it too hot? I don’t have weight money to get another one as it’s very expensive here. Does anyone have advice

You need to get the surface basking temp from a digital probe thermometer --- they are the most accurate--- if hes laying around it but not under it directly I am gonna say its too hot --- you may need to raise the bulb lower the basking decor or change the wattage out -- but please get the surface basking temp first -- for a adult dragon it needs to be 95-100 for a baby/ juvie younger than 6 months 105-110 --

You need to measure an accurate temp to know for sure. Having the correct temp is important. How far from the center of the basking bulb is he staying? The main thing is that he can get warm enough, if he can achieve that and not be directly under the bulb that is ok, the primary purpose of the basking bulb is to get them warm enough for digestion. If it is a little to hot, you could simply raise the bulb a bit, but be careful not to lower the temp to low or it will cause problems for your beardie.

I am gonna lower the watches as he is t koving around anymore and is hiding in his hide by the Hot side. We only have 50W left to try and I have a feeling that may be too low. I can’t raise the light unfortunately because of how it was put it. We are gonna get a gun temp measurer the minute we have money. We have one that’s on the wall which I now know is not accurate. We have a 75W in rn and that’s to hot so yeah

Temp guns are not accurate - digital probe thermometers are cheaper - PetSmart or Petco use those please

I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.

Clapton is acclimating okay I think. He's quick as lightning so I'm not sure how much I should bring him out of his house yet. He's not at all interested in his salad though. I wonder if I should change what I'm giving him. Least he's eating his crickets.

Things to do:
Buy calcium powder
Material to raise surface for basking spot
Scenery decals for back of tank
