This is Oreo!
He is my younger brothers pet. He noticed Oreo had swollen, red, watery eyes. They used sand in his tank and I informed them Oreo is too small for sand in the tank!… His behavior started to change, he would try to snap, he did not want to be bothered. He was in the corner of his tank sleeping seemed like for a week, no appetite! One day when he decided to wake up from his long nap this is how his eyes looked! Fast forward to a week later his eyes are filled with eye crust surrounding the whole eye (both)! The issue is we live in a state where exotic doctors are not really common, very far drives! I do suspect it is a really bad eye infection. I have not experienced this with my own 2 beardies! I am the person in my family who has more experience with bearded pets so I have been giving him warm baths hoping the crust would soften which I do see progress. He’s back to his normal attitude, no longer snapping, swelling is down, still doesn’t want to eat though ( I think because he can’t see what he’s eating )! My question is, I am afraid when I get the crust off the outside of the eye , the inside will still be red like this photo I attached. What drops are recommended? Please any info will help. Thank you for taking the time out to read about Oreo!

My brothers dad, when he bought the tank for Oreo he bought the “Combo deep dome reptile dual lamp”. I personally don’t use this lamp for my own 2 beardies in my home I’m not sure if that is the best one, could that light be the issue?!

Check your local Petsmart if you have one if not it can be ordered on line you want the 12% bulb
this is good for a 40+ gallon tank -- or this one 24" or 2 ft you need to change the bulb out
22" Zoo Med ReptiSun 10.0 UVB T5 HO
what are you using for a basking bulb brand and bulb please

Make sure your using digital probe thermometers are being used to get actual surface basking temps-- the stick ons are inaccurate--- he needs good UVB and good surface basking temps in the tank for him to thrive if any of this is off he will not thrive and get sick -- at this point hes not looking so good --- please shut the coil UVB off and get replace w /one of the ones I posted --- hes getting sicker as time goes on

Hello,

Do you have pictures you could post?
As Karrie suggested, please change out your compact/coil light, they do cause a myriad of health
issues. You can use some antibiotic eye ointment & sterile saline solution to help his eyes improve
more.
Is he eating anything yet?
Let us know how he is doing.

Tracie.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
